​The Philippine Deaf Community is ready to make a noise – not with sound, but with the powerful language of their hands! The Deaf people of the Philippines, together with allies like the Philippine Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (PRID), proudly celebrates the Deaf Awareness Week 2025!

​✨ Beyond Silence: Where Deaf Culture THRIVES!

​This year, the theme reminds everyone of a simple truth: Silence is not empty. It is not a limitation. It is the space where our rich Filipino Sign Language (FSL) and Deaf culture live, breathe, and flourish. They are a community of strength and identity. FSL is their official language and the heart of who they are.

​They are not defined by what they "lack," but by what they create. Their voices are amplified through their stories, their art, and their unwavering commitment to each other. ​Deaf talent, Deaf leadership, Deaf contributions—they are ready to show the nation what "Beyond Silence" truly looks like!

​🤝 Commitment: Communication is a Human Right.

​They call on the entire country—the National Government, schools, businesses, and every individual—to recognize and honor Filipino Sign Language. PRID continues its vital work, but the action must be collective.

​Let's commit to a truly accessible Philippines where communication is given without conditions, and respect is the standard. ​Action! Action! Action!
