AN OPEN LETTER
From the CEO of Tket Project
(Video interview courtesy of Neu Breed Media for their Bayanihan Diaries series 2018)
My dear students, educators, practitioners and co-entrepreneurs and to everyone whose ever been part of our projects and events,
As I take in a deep breath to carefully explain our status and where our business stands today.
You may have guessed, and maybe the truth is — you’re right...
Tket Project has undoubtedly taken a hard hit because of the wrath that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought upon us all.
This year 2020 is also our 8th year of operations and while our efforts to organize our infrastructure last 2019 set for positioning this year 2020 was all in vain — this has been our hardest year ever in business.
With our workshops and events mapped out for the first quarter just totally binned, we have been struggling to keep afloat.
At the moment, 80% of our workforce has been sadly cut-off and out of seven unit departments at our Pasay office, we are down to two: the marketing and finance and the managerial creative department.
This unfortunate and sad decision by the board of directors had to be made in order to sustain and survive Tket Project through this new normal, while we navigate towards hosting our international events on online platforms along with the current transitioning of all schools and businesses to adhere to the rules that may help flatten the curve and keep us all safe.
We are still hopeful and positive.
We chose to sustain and make a bold move even if our company’s emergency funding is at a critical point.
In the past seven years, I talked about never giving up if you have a dream; and that you should give everything you have and utilize whatever resources that you have to make your dreams happen.
My dream is still constant: to create great avenues of opportunity that would help my fellow Filipinos gain insight and direction and guide towards attaining their dreams. To help create a solid mindset to acheive things that would contribute in helping our country become better.
Because Tket Project was once a dream.
And I still stand to say your dreams can happen!
At this point of my letter, I wish to also express my gratitude to all the dear educators of prestigious schools for their neverending support and their belief in what Tket Project wants to accomplish with their students and our country.
I am also thankful to have good co-entrepreneurial friends who are always ready to share their knowledge on our event platform and fuel our advocacy altogether.
Thankful to also have a great supportive family as all of it together makes it my core group to keep fighting.
We will now be transitioning to hosting our paid international event platforms online and will be focusing on our frontline courses:
- Tourism & HRM
- Business Management
- Entrepreneurship
These will feature entrepreneurs and owners of big businesses and startups and professionals of each field and each segment will come with an e-certificate that you can use for job applications and credits to any further pursued studies locally and abroad.
We will also have and host weekly segments, a one-on-one talk with entrepreneurs and professionals locally and abroad where you can gain real time information and stories of the successful.
We will introduce each weekly segment accordingly.
With that, excitement once again runs through my veins of creating these platforms for you with my dedicated team as I look forward to personally host and moderate the discussions of each topic of our paid online events and segments.
I only wish that my next open letter would not be about closing Tket Project entirely. I hope that we can continue for more years of helping our fellowmen achieve more grounds for global competency and provide the many different avenues of opportunities to learn about making it in life.
We hope that whatever we create soon enough would have your full support so we can slowly walk through this ‘new normal’ until we can finally come altogether to proudly throw those yellow paper planes of dreams inside one venue of hope and aspiration once again. ❤️
Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to read this and for always supporting us even during these hard times.
This video below is a reminder of all the great times we’ve shared and most of all the vision behind the creation of Tket Project and its advocacy.
Let’s take it all to heart.
I’m not giving up — not just yet.
Let’s be stronger than ever.
I wish you all good health and safety amidst this very difficult and struggling era for all of us.
Always with my sincerest gratitude,
John Hadrian “Rye” Bonoan
CEO of Tket Project
WE WILL “HOPEFULLY” FLY AGAIN. 🙏🏼
