The Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS) proudly shares the recognition awarded to the Philippine Air Force – 520th Air Base Group, Air Installation and Base Development Command as an Exemplary Host Training Establishment for Aviation Safety and Security Management (AVSSM) OJT trainees.

This distinction reflects the PAF’s continued commitment to excellence in training, professionalism, and public service, and underscores the value of strong institutional partnerships in shaping competent and service-oriented aviation professionals.

ILAS commends the Aviation Safety and Security Management Department for this milestone and extends its appreciation to the Philippine Air Force for being a steadfast partner in advancing aviation education and training.

The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs issues Memorandum No. 16, s. 2025, outlining class modalities and faculty reporting schedules from December 18, 2025 to January 2, 2026, ensuring continued academic delivery while observing the holiday season.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗦 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆

The Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS) of the National Aviation Academy of the Philippines successfully held its Faculty Development Seminar and General Assembly on December 5, 2025, at the NAAP Multipurpose Hall, Villamor Campus. The event brought together all faculty members for a full day of professional development, collaboration, and reflection.

The program commenced with opening remarks by OIC-Dean Luigi Reginald B. Resoles, who welcomed participants, highlighted the achievements of the past semester, and shared the vision for the upcoming term. Dean Resoles also introduced Dr. Maria Sisa T. Dela Cruz, Officer-in-Charge of the Academy, who delivered the Inspirational Message, setting an encouraging and motivating tone for the day.

Sessions were led by distinguished internal speakers, including Prof. Marwin M. Dela Cruz, Ph.D., VP for Administration and Finance, who discussed innovative teaching strategies and student engagement; Ricardo A. Fajardo, Director of the Extension Office, who shared insights on sustainable community programs; and Dr. Ma. Teresa S. Rosales, Director of HRMSD and Allen Joyce A. Flaviano, Administrative Officer IV of the HRMSD, who presented updates on faculty welfare, evaluation, and policies. Each session included interactive discussions and Q&A, allowing faculty members to exchange ideas and reflect on improving instruction, research, and extension initiatives.

Outstanding faculty members were recognized based on student evaluations, highlighting ILAS’ commitment to academic excellence and professional growth. The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Engr. Jeq Zyrius A. Sudweste, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered by Shemeri Grace H. Garcia, Technical Assistant to the VPAA, emphasizing the practical application of the day’s insights to enhance teaching, mentoring, and community engagement.

The successful conduct of the seminar underscores ILAS’ dedication to holistic faculty development, institutional excellence, and fostering a collaborative academic community.

Ricardo A. Fajardo, Director of Community and Extension Services and faculty member of the General Education Department, was named Best Overall Presenter during the recently concluded Philippine Aviation Research Conference held on November 29, 2025, at Malayan Colleges Laguna in Cabuyao City. His achievement underscores the institution’s continued commitment to excellence in aviation research.

NAAP Deans and Research Director are taking part in the iSTAT–WURI Seminar and Workshop: Benchmarking Excellence — Leveraging iSTAT and WURI for Institutional Innovation, highlighted by the official launch of iSTAT PH, a new statistical platform designed to enhance institutional research, analytics, and innovation capacity. The event is being held at Rizal Technological University, Mandaluyong City.

During the Business-to-Academia Networking Session of the ENvest Forum, NAAP representatives, OIC-Dean Luigi Reginald B. Resoles (ILAS) and OIC-Dean Alvin John M. Paz (ICS), met with BOI Executive Director Ma. Corazon Halili-Dichosa to discuss opportunities for strengthening partnerships in support of educational development and workforce readiness.

The National Aviation Academy of the Philippines is currently attending the Educational Investment (ENvest) Forum at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria, where the Board of Investments is presenting its AIM! Program and the newly launched AIM! GeoMap— an initiative designed to strengthen links between academe, industry, and government.

The Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences stands in solidarity with the Philippine Commission on Women and the Inter-Agency Council on VAWC as we mark the annual 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

With the campaign’s continuing theme “UNiTEd for a VAW-free Philippines”, we reaffirm that lasting change is possible only when every Juan and Juana takes part. This 2025, we echo the call for a whole-of-nation approach—where youth become changemakers, men serve as proactive allies, bystanders speak up and intervene safely, and local leaders drive policy-based transformation.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗡𝗔𝗔𝗣 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝘀𝗸𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿

The Office of the Community Extension Services (CES) and the Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS) visited the Iskolar Reading Center in Silang, Cavite, an after-school literacy NGO dedicated to empowering young learners, for an exploratory meeting on potential extension programs of the National Aviation Academy of the Philippines (NAAP).

Representing the academy were Luigi Reginald B. Resoles, OIC-Dean of ILAS and concurrent Head of the General Education Department; Ricardo A. Fajardo, Director of CES; and Norhana S. Sarip, CES Secretariat and Extension Coordinator of the General Education Department.

During the visit, the NAAP team met with Shirley Belarga, Library and Program Director and co-founder of the Center, along with several volunteer mentors who help run the organization’s reading and enrichment sessions. They were also joined via videoconference by co-founder Dr. Oliver Belarga.

This initiative aligns with the directive of CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley Agrupis, emphasizing the integration of functional literacy as a key priority area in the extension programs of higher education institutions.

NAAP continues to build strong community partnerships as part of its commitment to advancing accessible, relevant, holistic, and transformative education.

The General Education Department will hold the Final Examinations on November 17–18, 2025 (Monday and Tuesday). Check the posted photos for your assigned rooms and schedules.
