𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝.

𝐎𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟓, 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟔, over two million Filipinos filled 𝐄𝐃𝐒𝐀, standing together with brave determination against oppression and corruption. Their unity proved that ordinary people could challenge a system that seemed untouchable.

This year, we observe the 𝟒𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐃𝐒𝐀 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, a milestone that continues to inspire courage and collective action.

As humanistas—and as Filipinos—we are reminded to carry that same spirit into our own lives. Whether in school, community, or personal choices, we are called to act boldly and stand for truth and justice, no matter how small the stage.

𝑬𝑫𝑺𝑨 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝑳𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒂 𝒌𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒌𝒕𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂, 𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒂 𝒉𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂!

“𝑻𝒐 𝒏𝒖𝒓𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍 — 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒖𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒔.”

Last February 5, the 𝑨𝒓𝒕𝒔 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒌 led by 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐣𝐚𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐧 explored the connection between creativity and our inner, spiritual selves, reminding us that art begins long before it takes form.

The discussion highlighted how nurturing creativity goes beyond skill or output. It begins with awareness and reflection, and with giving ourselves permission to create without constantly adjusting to expectations or norms.

The talk also shed light on self-censorship — how it slowly distances us from our creative core. By reconnecting with that inner voice, we are able to express ideas more honestly and meaningfully.

The session created a space where creativity was not filtered, but felt — rooted in sincerity and the courage to listen inward.
