Sharing is caring
Why Your Financial Advisor Maybe wrong?
Everyone has a financial adviser friend, do you agree?
And more often than not, you'll see him/her post in social media the phrase:
"Live below your means."
In this Orientation, I'm going to share with why this shouldn't be the only goal.
And if you are currently living below your means or having a hard time doing it..
.I'm going to share with you a different perspective in terms of finances.
Now before that..
.this orientation is in no way a financial advice. This is for informational purposes only. When it comes to finances, you should always consult a financial professional.
Going back..
.there was a time when I wanted to complete the so-called: "52-week money challenge."
It's basically a challenge where every single week, you'll set aside a portion of money into savings.
Normally, if you are currently earning a fixed income, the best way to do this is by really "living below your means."
Meaning, every payday, you'll set aside a portion of your income and probably you'll say something like:
"Hindi muna ako mag mi-milk tea ngayon kasi may challenge ako."
While this is well and good, this is what happened to me.
I'm a big believer of "living below your means." But this belief has leveled up when I discovered "expanding your means."
What do I mean by that?
If you are starting out, it's best to live below your means.
But this shouldn't be the only goal.
Why?
Because by doing so, you are limiting yourself and your potential to what you currently have.
Say you are earning 20K per month.
Then you'll be too focused on "managing" what you have instead of "getting" what you want.
The goal is to "expand your means."
By doing so, you'll be able to achieve your goals and dreams much faster.
And that's exactly what happened to me.
When I discovered online and digital Business FinancialAdvisor Career skills, I was able to increase my income and was able to complete the 52-week money challenge earlier than expected.
To put it simply:
Which one is easier to do:
Saving 5,000 or earning an additional 5,000 per month?
I'd say the latter.
If and only if, you'll level up and develop high-income skills.
So yes, it's good to live below your means, but after that..
.push yourself, expand your means and achieve your dreams and goals much faster.
Don't just live below your means, expand it,
