UNIVERSITY UPDATE | The NU College of Dentistry joined the celebration of 2025 National Dental Health Month today, February 2, at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. Organized by the Philippine Dental Association, this year’s event carried the theme “Brushing ang Key sa Ngiping Healthy.”

This celebration served as an opportunity for dental professionals and students to showcase their dedication to promoting oral health and bright smiles.

It was a proud moment for the NU College of Dentistry as they took home the following awards:

🏅Alay Parada 2025 Most Number of
Attendees Award (School Division)
🏅Inter-Dental School Bench Cheering, 1st Runner-Up

Flashbacks & Reflections :

1952 NU College of Dentistry Graduation when Dentistry was only a 4 year course!

This is Dr. Bernardino B. Roa, Jr., the father of Dr. Alan C. Roa, former Dean of NUCD (2005). Dr. Doy's sister, Dr. Asuncion Roa also graduated at the same time.

Dean Roa's Grandfather, Bernardino Q. Roa, Sr., DMD, MD, was a faculty then teaching Medical subjects in NUCD.

In 1952, NUCD's Dr. Corazon Atienza placed Top # 2 in the Board Exams. Which have not been repeated nor surpassed to our knowledge.

That's one of Missions we hope to achieve 🙏 soon. Maybe one of you young undergrads will get that elusive Top One for National University College of Dentistry!
