AIMS stands firm: every learner deserves to feel safe, respected, protected, and heard.

Through the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Student Services, AIMS reinforces its continuing commitment to student protection, campus safety, and a culture of care.

Dr. Rhogin V. Giner, LCB, AIMS AVP for Student Services, emphasized that safety goes beyond physical security. It includes zero tolerance for bullying, prompt reporting, early intervention, responsible communication, compassionate action, and strong support systems that respond to students with dignity and care.

This order makes it clear that AIMS owns the stand, while Dr. Giner communicates and supports the message as AVP for Student Services.

In Case You Missed It! ๐Ÿ“ฐโš“

Since our official page is finally up and running, we are excited to retroactively share the May 2026 issue of the AIMS Official Research Newsletter! Brought to you by the Center for Research and Institutional Development (CRID), this issue looks back at a major milestone for our institution.

Our banner story highlights the successful kick-off of the AIMS Research Capacity Building Training held at the 7th Deck Case Room, AIMS Tower. This intensive four-day training series empowered our dedicated faculty and administrative personnel to elevate institutional research development. ๐Ÿ’ก

Here is a quick look at the training roadmap featured in this issue:

โ€ข Day 1 (April 24 - Onsite): Opening Ceremony & RRL Development by Dr. Sammy Q. Dolba, and a guide to AIMS Library Resources by Dean Juan Martin Guasch.
โ€ข Day 2 (April 27 - Online): Research Proposal Preparation by Dr. Dennis Caballes.
โ€ข Day 3 (May 04 - Online): Quantitative Research Methods by Prof. Irene Magistrado.
โ€ข Day 4 (May 08 - Onsite): Qualitative Research Methods by Dr. Christopher Sasot.

A key highlight was the presentation of the proposed AIMS Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy 2026 by Mr. Antonio Roque W. Paderanga, ensuring ethical, transparent, and globally aligned AI use across our maritime education and operations! ๐Ÿค–๐Ÿ›ณ๏ธ

Kudos to all the participants who successfully completed the training and received their certificates! Your dedication continues to navigate AIMS toward higher horizons of academic and research excellence. ๐ŸŒŠโค๏ธ

Even though the event concluded last month, the research momentum is just getting started! Which of these training topics would you like to see a deeper dive into next? ๐Ÿ’ญ
