Inabisuhan ang mga mamamayan, kabilang ang mga manggagawa at mag-aaral, na mag-ingat at sumunod sa mga paalala sa kalusugan, gaya ng pananatili sa loob ng bahay at pagsuot ng facemask kapag lalabas. Binalaan din ang publiko sa mga posibleng epekto nito, tulad ng iritasyon sa mata, pagkahilo o pagsakit ng ulo, at hirap sa paghinga.

Hinihikayat ding manatiling alerto at tutok ang publiko sa mga anunsyo mula sa Pasay City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

𝗡𝗨 𝗠𝗢𝗔 𝗦𝗛𝗦 𝗞𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗸𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸

On March 26, 2026, students from the HUMSS and ASSH strands gathered for a National Women’s Month webinar hosted by the Kolektibista, highlighting the theme “We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society: Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas.” The webinar featured inspiring talks from notable women speakers, with the talk starting from the discussion of Dr. Cielo Magno on feminist leadership and democratic fiscal reform.

Following this, Dr. Nathalie Africa-Verceles underscored the significance of the Babaylan in modern times and transformative leadership.

Lastly, Ms. Jescel Aquino emphasized the policies and programs of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and their impact on women’s empowerment in the country. Each discussion was followed by a question-and-answer forum with the audience.

Overall, the webinar served as a meaningful platform that empowered the NU MOA HUMSS community to reflect on the vital role of women in shaping a more just and inclusive society.

𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐚

Sa pagdaan ng ilang linggo, tila mas mabilis pa sa kidlat ang pag-akyat ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo sa mga gasolinahan. Sa gitna ng tensyon sa Middle East, ang bawat patak ng krudo ay tila ginto ang halaga, lalo na para sa mga ordinaryong mamamayang ang hanapbuhay ay nakasalalay rito. Para sa mga “hari ng kalsada” o ang mga tsuper ng dyipni, ang bawat pisong dumaragdag sa presyo ng 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘭 ay katumbas ng pagbawas ng bigas na kanilang ihahain sa hapag-kainan.

Sa kasalukuyang sitwasyon, hindi lamang ito simpleng isyu ng ekonomiya, ito ay isyu ng pakikibaka sa kalsada. Sa isang banda, naririyan ang walang prenong 𝘰𝘪𝘭 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘬𝘦 na nagpapataas sa kanilang 𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵. Sa kabilang banda naman, ang suspensyon ng inaprubahang 𝘧𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘬𝘦 — na layunin sanang makatulong sa mga komyuter ay nag-iwan sa mga tsuper sa isang sitwasyon kung saan sila ang dehado. Ayon sa ilan sa kanila, kung dati ay nakapag-uuwi sila ng ₱800 hanggang ₱1,000 sa loob ng isang araw, ngayon ay masuwerte na sila kung ang pasada ay aabot sa ₱200 hanggang ₱300. Sa ilang oras na pagsasakripisyo sa kalsada, ang kanilang naiuuwi ay hindi pa sapat upang mapunan ang kumakalam nilang sikmura. Sa presyo ng bilihin ngayon, saan ba aabot ang barya sa bulsa?

Ang serye ng kanilang kilos-protesta at tigil-pasada na nasasaksihan natin ay hindi ginagawa upang mang-abala ng publiko. Ito ay isang desperadong sigaw upang sila ay mapansin. Ilan sa kanilang mga pangunahing hiling ay ang pagtanggal ng 𝘌𝘹𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘹 at 𝘝𝘈𝘛 sa langis upang makatulong sa pagbaba ng presyo ng krudo, dagdag pa rito ay ang sapat na 𝘧𝘶𝘦𝘭 𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘺 — ang tulong na madalas ay huli na kung dumating o kaya naman ay hindi sapat upang makapaglagay ng pagkain sa hapag-kainan. Hindi lahat ng tsuper ay may kakayahang magpundar ng sarili nilang dyip, kaya umaasa na lamang sa pamamagitan ng 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘺 kung saan hindi tiyak ang kita na kanilang maiuuwi. Sa ganitong sitwasyon, ang mga nasa laylayan ay patuloy lamang napag-iiwanan.

Bagama’t nagdeklara na ng “𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘌𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘌𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺," kailangang makita ng mga mamamayan ang kongkretong hakbang na direktang tutulong sa mga pinakaapektado. Hindi sapat ang paunti-unting taas-presyo kung ang sahod at kita ay nananatiling nakapako sa lupang semento. Ang dyipni ay simbolo ng ating kultura, ngunit higit pa rito, ito ang buhay ng libo-libong mamamayang Pilipino. Kung hahayaan nating mamatay ang sektor na ito dahil sa taas ng presyo ng langis at kakulangan ng suporta, hindi lamang ang mga tsuper ang talo, kundi pati na rin ang mga mamamayang umaasa sa kanila para makarating sa kanilang mga paroroonan. Ang dyip na nakasaksi ng maraming kuwento ng pag-asa, ang dyip na siyang dahilan kung bakit ligtas tayo sa tuwing may paglalakbay, at ang dyip na lumalaban nang patas upang makasabay sa larga ng buhay…
Papayag ba tayong tuluyang nakahinto sa ilalim ang kanilang mga gulong? O kaisa tayo sa pagsulong at pagpapatuloy ng kanilang pasada sa buhay?

Sa huli, ang laban ng mga tsuper ng dyip ay laban din nating mga komyuter. Ang kanilang panawagan sa makatarungang presyo ng langis ay panawagan din para sa buhay na may dignidad. Panahon na upang pakinggan ang ingay ng kanilang makina — hindi bilang abala, kundi bilang paalala na ang bawat pagtaas ng presyo ay may katumbas na mabigat na pasanin na kanilang dinadala. Panahon na upang kalampagin ang mga nakaupo sa malalamig na opisina: itigil ang panggigipit, ibaba ang presyo, at unahin ang sikmura ng masa bago ang kita ng mga korporasyon. Huwag nating hayaang maiwan sa biyahe ang mga taong bumubuhay sa ating ekonomiya.

Naungusan ang manlalarong si Eliyah Jei Vicedo ng NU MOA Senior High School sa NCR Palaro 2026 sa table tennis nang mahirapan laban sa mga kinatawan mula sa Parañaque at Marikina sa Pedro Guevarra Elementary School noong Marso 2 at 3, 2026.

Nagmala-“𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘺” ang NU MOA SHS sa una nitong pagkakataong sumali sa palarong panrehiyon matapos mairaos nang matagumpay ni Vicedo ang pangunguna sa panlungsod na lebel.

Sinikwat ni Vicedo ang mga kalaban niya sa Navotas at Taguig-Pateros ngunit hindi siya pinalusot sa girls’ singles A, dahilan sa pagtuldok sa kaniyang 2-2 na iskor sa palaro.

Si Vicedo ay ginabayan ng kaniyang tagapagsanay na si G. Juan Carlo Cosme mula pa noong Pasay City Division Meet, kung saan napasakamay niya ang makasaysayang ginto upang makaabante ang paaralan sa rehiyonal na palaro.

Bilang dating kalahok mula sa Imus City, ang pagsalang sa Lungsod ng Pasay at pagrepresenta nito sa palarong panrehiyon ay mga bagong karanasan din para kay Vicedo, isang taon lamang ang pagitan ng mga ito mula sa una niyang division palaro.

Matagal niya nang pinakikinggan ang bandang Up Dharma Down, at ang “Unti-Unti” ay ang pinakapaborito niyang awitin nila hanggang kamakailan lamang.

Ang Anti-Ghosting Act ay ipinanukala ni Arnolfo Teves Jr. noong Hulyo 2022 na may layuning maprotektahan ang mental health ng bawat indibidwal laban sa "ghosting"—isang biglaang pagputol ng komunikasyon nang walang paalam o usapan sa taong karelasyon.

Magandang isipin na mabibigyan ng hustisya ang malalim na sugat galing sa isang relasyon…, na lahat ng hinanakit na nararamdaman ay maaaring patunayan ng batas. Ngunit kung hihimayin ang laman ng bill na ito, hanggang saan maitatakda ang linya ng "tunay" na nakasasakit na ghosting?

Ayon sa konteksto ng proposed House Bill 611 (2022), ang sakop ng bill ay ang mga kasintahang magka-live-in na hindi pa kasal. Paano naman ang mga taong hindi sakop ng saklaw na ito? Ang layunin ng pagprotekta sa mental health ng mga tao ay para lamang sa piling indibidwal. At ang kahihinatnan ay community services lamang, walang 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 galing sa nang-ghost, at walang remedyo para sa nasaktan.

Sa tulong at kooperasyon ng mga mag-aaral at kanilang mga g**o sa asignaturang Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions (CPAR), matagumpay na idinaos ng NU MOA SHS ang panghapon ng ikalawang araw ng 𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴: 𝘈 𝘚𝘛𝘌𝘔 𝘈𝘳𝘵 𝘌𝘹𝘩𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘵 sa Multipurpose Hall noong Pebrero 13, 2026.

Ipinakita sa eksibit ang iba’t ibang “installation art” na sumasailalim sa tiyak na uri o klasipikasyon ng sining, partikular na ang Komersyal na Sining o “Commercial Art,” na itinanghal ng 12STEM2405 at Medikal na Sining o “Medical Art,” na nilikha naman ng 12STEM2401.

Napakinggan din mula sa mga manlilikha ang kanilang paliwanag tungkol sa mga likhang-sining; tulad ng motibo, inspirasyon, kahalagahan, kaugnayan sa tema o klasipikasyon, at mensaheng nais nitong iparating.

Bukod sa natunghayang paghahandang ginawa ng mga STEMnalians sa kanilang kakaibang mga likhang-sining, nasaksihan din mula sa mga ito ang dedikasyon sa higit pang pagpapahayag ng kahulugan ng mga ito hindi lamang sa mga g**ong nagmamarka sa kanila, kundi pati sa kanilang kapwa mag-aaral.

Kasabay ng pagtatapos sa bahaging ito ang pagwawakas ng buong eksibit na pinamahalaan ng mga g**o sa CPAR na sina G. Jan Nicasio Ventican, Bb. Jasmin Garzota, at G. Elvin Domingo, na nag-iwan ng makabuluhang karanasan sa parehong paglikha at pagmasid ng mga mag-aaral ng STEM.

Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will remain in the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention center after judges unanimously rejected his latest bid for temporary freedom on March 6, 2026.

The ruling came in response to a formal appeal submitted by Duterte's defense team on February 5, 2026, which requests to reverse a previous decision by the Pre-Trial Chamber I, and to order the immediate release of Duterte.

Duterte’s legal team cited health concerns and argued that his deteriorating health and "cognitive impairment" meant he was no longer a flight risk (risk of escaping/avoiding trial) and could not interfere with the investigation.

However, In a 29-page ruling issued on March 6, 2026, the ICC Appeals Chamber denied the request to release the 80-year-old former leader, saying there were no “new or changed circumstances,” noting that the defense’s medical report contained no new examinations, the court relied instead on its own independent medical experts, and the risks of flight or witness interference remain unchanged.

Rodrigo Duterte has been in the custody of the International Criminal Court in The Hague since March 12, 2025, following his arrest upon returning from Hong Kong, where he faces charges of crimes against humanity, including murder and attempted murder, allegedly committed during his “war on drugs” campaign between 2011 and 2019.

With the appeal denied, the case now proceeds to deliberate on whether there is sufficient evidence to confirm the charges, with a decision expected within 60 days following the conclusion of the confirmation of charges hearing on February 27, 2026.

If the charges are confirmed, a Trial Chamber will be formed to begin formal proceedings or the formal trial.

Following a short break after the Math Talks event, the Science Talks event was successfully conducted during STEM Week A.Y. 2025–2026, bringing together students for an engaging and informative discussion focused on Forensic Anthropology.

The program opened with a prayer and the National Anthem, followed by a warm welcome to all STEM students. The event was formally opened through the opening remarks of SHS Principal Sir Telesforo F. Acopiado, Jr.

Ms. Margareth Del E. Isagan, the Science Learning Area Coordinator, served as the moderator of the event formally introduced the speaker of the program Mr. Edwin Miguel S. Anadon, who shared his expertise in the field of science and forensics. He helped participants understand the complexities and real-life applications of scientific investigation.

‎The program followed the same flow as the Math Talks, featuring a special performance by Mr. Kairo Navarro that gave the audience a short break before continuing the discussion. After that, a Q&A session followed, allowing students and teachers to actively participate and raise their questions. The event concluded with the awarding of a Token and Plaque of Appreciation to the speaker.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈 | The Battle in the Land of Dawn begins!

The Mobile Legends Bang Bang tournament began at 8:21 AM on February 5, 2026, in room 1002 A. Miss Albarico, Sir Marticio, Sir Delfin, and Sir Alden Vargas moderated the competition. To ensure a fair and sportsmanlike environment, players were prohibited from using all chat and were asked to refrain from using profanities during the game. The tournament followed a best-of-three format.

The tournament featured eight houses, with opponents determined by a random draw using a wheel of names. The competition was structured into two batches of brackets, commencing immediately at the quarter-finals.

Bracket A:
Daichi vs. Henka: Henka faced an early exit, succumbing to Daichi's relentless aggression in a 2-0 defeat. Daichi's composition was overwhelming, dismantling Henka's strategy.
Gijutsu vs. Hoshi: Hoshi fell flat, unable to withstand Gijutsu's formidable and difficult-to-counter lineup, resulting in a 2-0 victory for Gijutsu.

Bracket B:
Chiikara vs. Kozo: Kozo emerged victorious against Chiikara with a decisive 2-0 win, showcasing their aggressive playstyle.
Seimei vs. Suuri: Suuri triumphed over Seimei with a 2-0 score. The second game of this match was particularly memorable, as Jalotjot's aggressive Freya gameplay secured the first maniac of the tournament.

Following a short break, the semi-finals began. Gijutsu continued their dominant streak, overwhelming Kozo with an impeccable lineup, securing a 2-0 victory. In the other semi-final match, Suuri initially gained the upper hand by winning the first game against Daichi. However, Daichi retaliated, winning the next two games and securing a 2-1 victory.

The battle for third place preceded the finals, with Kozo securing a 2-0 victory. Despite Suuri's having a stronger lineup, their composure fell flat in the late game, particularly in the final match.

The finals began immediately, with Gijutsu seizing the first win. Although Daichi presented an incredibly strong lineup, they faltered after fifteen minutes, allowing Gijutsu to dominate the later stages of the game. The initial ten minutes, however, were closely contested. In the second game, Daichi maintained a similar lineup, leading to another tight match. This time, Daichi fights back, with their gold laner, Pleyto, securing a clutch maniac with Clint, which was one of the catalysts for his house's victory against Gijutsu. The third game was intense, with Daichi keeping their lineup unchanged. They dominated both the early and late phases of the final match, capitalizing on Gijutsu's errors. Daichi's dominance in the Land of Dawn was evident as they closed out the intense third round with a score of 4-26.

Daichi's aggression crushed their opponents, leaving no doubt that they are the supreme rulers of this STEM Week’s tournament.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈 | STEM Week Concludes

The National University Mall of Asia (NU MOA) officially concluded the STEM Week in the Multi-Purpose Hall, as students from different sections bonded together to celebrate the prowess of STEM students through a series of engaging activities and learning experiences held throughout Feb 4 to 6, 2026.

Through trials of wit, strategy, and innovation, students took part in activities that tested their strength in the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

As the kingdoms hibernate and the stage grows quiet, this week stands as a testament to why STEM continues to grow and thrive beyond school grounds—sharpening critical thinking skills, cooperation, and resilience that will continue to grow beyond STEM Week.
