The SOGIE Equality Bill seeks to prohibit discrimination based on SOGIE. It does not only educates people on different SOGIEs, but it also protects them from malicious and judgmental action/ideas such as defamation, shaming, abuse, and manipulation on the basis of SOGIE that could potentially harm them.

This bill is regarded as one of the slowest-moving bills in Philippine history and the longest-running bill under senate interpellation.
