We came together as a communityโ€”health professionals, academicians, researchers, students, advocates, and partnersโ€”to champion the integrated approach that connects human, animal, and environmental health. UPLB Zoonoses Center University of the Philippines Los Baรฑos Southeast Asia One Health University Network Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Department of Agriculture - Philippines NU MOA -American Academy of Science & Engineering (PAASE).

This activity forms part of the PREACTs Philippines initiative under the global PREZODE Program.

The workshop aimed to contextualize and validate national findings specifically for Pampanga, the designated ๐ฉ๐ข๐ฅ๐จ๐ญ ๐ฅ๐จ๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ž for the ๐๐‘๐„๐™๐Ž๐ƒ๐„ ๐ข๐ง ๐€๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐€๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐š, ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐€๐ฌ๐ข๐š, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐š๐ซ๐ข๐›๐›๐ž๐š๐ง (๐€๐’๐„๐€๐‚๐€) program.

The PREZODE Initiative (Preventing Zoonotic Disease Emergence) is a global collaborative platform that promotes the prevention of zoonotic diseases through the One Health approach. In the Philippines, the initiative is implemented collaboratively by the UPLB School of Environmental Science and Management (UPLB-SESAM), the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), alongside national and local partners.

The workshop brought together representatives from Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU), PhilOHUN, provincial government offices, and local agencies to ensure that program strategies for ASEACA align with Pampangaโ€™s local priorities, capacities, and governance landscape.

AMR develops when bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses evolve and resist treatment, leading to prolonged illnesses and higher mortality rates.
As scientists, healthcare professionals, and informed citizens, it is our shared responsibility to advocate for the responsible use of antimicrobials, strengthen infection prevention and control efforts, and invest in research. Practicing responsible antibiotic stewardship safeguards the efficacy of life-saving medicines for future generations.
