Sa Araw ng Pambansang Watawat, ang bawat Filipino ay makikiisa sa sabayang pagtataas ng watawat sa buong bansa—isang sandali upang muling manumpa ng katapatan sa ating watawat, sa ating bayan, at sa ating kolektibong pangarap: isang mas mabuting Pilipinas na ating maipagmamalaki.

Noong Marso 6, 1965, inilabas ang Presidential Proclamation Blg. 374 na nagdedeklara sa Mayo 28 bilang Araw ng Pambansang Watawat upang gunitain ang petsa kung kailan unang iwinagayway ang pambansang sagisag matapos talunin ng Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Pilipino ang mga pwersang Kastila sa Labanan sa Alapan, Imus, Cavite noong 1898. Noong Mayo 23, 1994, inilabas ang Executive Order Blg. 179 na nagpapalawig sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Pambansang Watawat mula Mayo 28 hanggang Hunyo 12.

In line with the 127th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence and the 2025 Year of the Youth in Philippine History, this year's colloquium will feature three lectures on young revolutionaries who celebrate their sesquicentennials this year, namely Gregoria de Jesus, Gregorio del Pilar, and Emilio Jacinto.

Nagwagi ang mga rebolusyonaryo dahil naubusan ng armas ang kalaban at sumuko. Sa pagdiriwang ng unang tagumpay ng mga Pilipino, iwinagyway ni Aguinaldo ang watawat sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon sa kanyang himpilan sa Lungsod Cavite. Kilometer Zero Marker

Did You Know ? the importance of the "Kilometer Zero marker".

The Kilometer Marker is a reference point of kilometer markers you find in any Philippine National Highway. There are four pieces of information in a kilometer marker (except Kilometer 0, which has only 2). These are :

“**KM**” — this simply means KILOMETER.

**Number** below the “KM” — the distance of the marker from the Kilometer 0 found in Luneta. A bigger number means you’re further from Luneta. If you walk to towards the next kilometer marker and it reflects a smaller number, that means you’re walking towards the direction of Manila (where Luneta is found).

**Letter**/s — the initial of the NEXT town in the direction you are heading.

**Number** — immediately under the letters is a number, which designates the remaining distance (in kilometers) to the next town.

If you’re not familiar with the place, you will know how far the next town is.

This is the more important practical purpose for those markers — it can help you when you’re lost and, by reason of all unlucky karma, your celphone or gadgets (GPS) conk out.

For this, you need one more input : which side on the road the marker is placed. If you’re driving on a road and you notice the kilometer markers on the right, you are driving AWAY from Manila; if on the left, you are driving towards Manila.

HAPPY 504TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST HOLY MASS IN THE PHILIPPINES

Mga bok at ter, today, 31 March 2025, marks the 504th anniversary of the First Holy Mass in the Philippines.

The first ever Eucharistic celebration in the country happened on 31 March 1521, Easter Sunday, in Limasawa Island, Province of Southern Leyte. It was presided by Spanish friar Pedro de Valderrama, who was part of the group of Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. It was attended by Rajahs Kolambu and Siagu, who later forged a blood compact of friendship with Magellan.

This significant event marked the beginning of the spread of Christianity in Asia.
