In Montessori, children learn phonetic sounds first before conventional spelling. What you see in the picture reflects their effort in identifying and building words through sound. This process strengthens their confidence and supports independent learning, as they are not interrupted or corrected while creating. The teacher introduces the correct spelling only after the child has completed the work.

Another area of our Montessori classroom is Zoology. At first glance, it may look like a simple puzzle, but each piece is designed with purpose. Our Zoology puzzles help the child identify and name the different parts of an animal.
Just like in the photo, a child may work with the Horse puzzle, carefully exploring each part, learning its name, and discovering its function. This material supports vocabulary development, scientific understanding, and a deeper appreciation for the living world.
