as always, our hearts are full. i'm still beaming over the conversations that unfolded so naturally, the stories shared, and the friendships that began to take root in such an intimate space.

we literally just wrapped up our last session from our first batch. it brought me so much joy to see how our participants' grasp of their brand (their audience, their language, their strategy) completely transformed by the end of day 3. can't wait to experience this with more of you!! 🥹

special mention (not listed here) for Chuck Palahniuk — publishers rejected his novel Invisible Monsters because it was "too disturbing". this led to him writing his most famous novel, Fight Club, as an attempt to disturb the publisher more for rejecting him 😆 (they ended up loving it)

what makes up a story? shall i count the ways 🎭

in some of our creative writing workshops, participants choose blindly from two piles: 1) a character 2) a quirk

then they're given time to come up with a backstory explaining why their character behaves this way

the first time we did this, it right away became a favorite activity among the community (it's one of my fave ones to facilitate too!!) people often surprise themselves with how creative they can get, thinking up a whole history for a character that didn't even exist until that moment

give it a try and see what you come up with!! 👀

we're bringing back a community favorite! 🥳 come and let's write emotional scenes, build powerful dialogue, and look through brilliant written examples from popular media ✍️

i still have vivid memories of our first round of sessions for this workshop. everyone's energy was electric, and i loved watching everyone analyze and become inspired by the activities!! figuring out a hundred different ways one emotion could be portrayed, practicing how to write different characters reacting to the same scenario, dissecting episode scenes to identify the emotions being acted out 💪
