ONLY BY GOD’S GRACE — This was the heartbeat of Shekinah Christian Training Center at the recently concluded 31st National Student Convention, where 63 schools and over 1,600 delegates from all over the country competed.
Our delegation earned 47 awards across the various events, securing top 3 overall rankings in four of the competition categories. It is truly humbling to note that Shekinah was the only school recognized in the top 3 across 4 out of 5 categories.
Overall Awards:
- 1st Place: Platform Category
- 2nd Place: Music Category
- 3rd Place: Academics
- 3rd Place: Arts & Photography
To God be the glory! These victories reflect the dedication and hard work of our students, coaches, teachers, and administration, alongside the unwavering support and cooperation of our parents. Above all, however, they stand as a testament to God’s unmerited favor and grace!

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rowena "Weng" S. Kakilala. A dear friend, mentor, and important ally of Shekinah Christian Training Center.
She is survived by her husband, Bim, and her daughters, Kat, Beck, and Lora.
Weng was more than just a supporter of Shekinah; she was a much-needed source of strength and love to everyone she got involved with; the administration, the staff, and especially the students. Her life was a testimony to God’s grace, as she tirelessly mentored and inspired many youths within Shekinah’s walls and beyond. Through her wisdom and guidance, she shaped countless lives and planted seeds of hope, courage, and unwavering faith.
Weng was instrumental in supporting Shekinah’s many charitable causes and playing a crucial role in raising much-needed funds to help the less fortunate. Her compassion and dedication to helping others will forever be remembered as an integral part of our mission.
We deeply mourn the loss of a remarkable woman who was a persistent servant, a sacrificing mother, and, most importantly, a devoted friend.
We rejoice in the assurance that she is now with her Savior, hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
Our hearts go out to her family, friends, and all who were touched by her incredible life.
Please join us in praying for comfort and peace during this difficult time.
Let us honor her legacy by continuing the work she was most passionate about—bringing hope and light to the youth.
Rest in peace, Weng. You will be deeply missed, and never forgotten.
With love and gratitude to God for your life,
Your Shekinah Christian Training Center family

The annual Educators' Convention is a refreshing time for our teachers and leaders. It offers fresh insights, new perspectives, and opportunities for growth. Listening to experts and experienced speakers really inspires us. This year’s theme was Conquering More Mountains.
Sharing with you some lyrics from the theme song “I Want That Mountain”
I want that mountain!
I want that mountain,
Where the milk and honey flow
Where the grapes of Eschol grow
I want that mountain!
I want that mountain!
The mountain that the Lord has given me.”
Amen! To God be the glory.

Why should we celebrate your birthday?
Last Thursday, August 8, one day before your birthday, you did something that had a profound impact on me.
You had been giving away the used uniforms that former Shekinah parents donated to the school after their children graduated or left Shekinah. Uniforms, right now, have become very expensive. If you keep on offering these used ones to families for free, how can we sell the new ones? When you said, “Ikakayaman ba natin yan?”, I learned something Godly (which I should already know by now after having been 34 or so years in this ministry).
This and the many more blessed sacrificial acts that are second nature to you in running Shekinah, is why we are celebrating your birthday, Ms. Lita Anguluan, “Ms.A”. Kung alam lang ng Shekinah parents and students the many favors from God that are available to them (like how we plan our events around how they can save more) because of who are running the school and who are serving in the school. To God be the Glory!!!
HAPPY HAPPY BLESSED BIRTHDAY, Lita. God bless you more and more and more!!!

Why should we celebrate your birthday?
Frankly, you are one of the most hardworking in Shekinah. Despite the distance of your house from the school, you are rarely late or absent. All the students and their parents are personally known to you. You know their struggles and your heart aches for them when your hands are also tied after stretching yourself thin and you ran out of ways to help them.
You are the epitome of a real model mother/teacher. I learn so much just watching you go from one student’s office to another. How you gently and patiently usher students into learning is always a sight to behold. How you could love all of your students and extend learning center hours for those who need extra time and instruction is beyond me. Napapagod din ako. Pero Ikaw…
That’s why we need to celebrate your birthday, Ms Laura “Ms D.” De Guzman. Shekinah Christian Training Center is very special because of the dedication and commitment of the people behind it, notably its School Principal.
We love you and we always thank God because of you. HAPPY HAPPY BLESSED BIRTHDAY, Ms D!!!
Stay as sweet as you are.
