The Student Leadership Training Camp taught me lessons that go far beyond organizations, positions, and school responsibilities. It gave me a glimpse of the challenges, decisions, and opportunities that I will eventually face in the real world.
One of the biggest realizations I gained is that leadership begins with people. Every conversation, every introduction, and every connection is an opportunity to build trust. When we take time to know people, we create relationships that make every challenge lighter and every goal more achievable. Through this camp, I learned the value of respect, honor, accountability, and humility and qualities that transform a group of individuals into a united team.
I have always considered myself an introverted person. Meeting new people, expressing my thoughts, and stepping into unfamiliar situations were things that did not come naturally to me. Yet by God's grace, I found myself doing exactly those things. I spoke with new faces, shared my ideas, listened to different perspectives, and discovered that growth often begins where comfort ends.
Before the camp started, I said, "I will enter this camp as who I am today, and I will leave this camp different, changed, a new being."
Today, I can confidently say that those words became a reality.
A small fire can only burn so much on its own. But give it fuel, wood, and charcoal, and it grows brighter, stronger, and more powerful. In the same way, I arrived at the camp with limited knowledge, limited experience, and many areas where I needed to grow. Yet through every training session, every lesson, every challenge, and every interaction, I was given fuel. I was challenged to think bigger, lead better, and push beyond the limits I once placed on myself.
This camp did not simply teach me how to become a better leader. It challenged me to become a better person.
To the Office of Student Affairs, the organizers, facilitators, and my fellow student leaders, thank you for creating an experience that will stay with me for years to come.
And to my fellow Ka-Turismo, thank you for trusting me to serve as the President of PATTS Tourism Society for the upcoming Academic Year. Your trust is both an honor and a responsibility that I will carry with gratitude.
This is only the beginning. The fire has been ignited, and I am excited to see how far God will allow it to grow. ๐ฉท
