Today’s flying at the Mapua Institute football field. John Lester “Apol” Baradas at the control of the Electrified Flite Streak. Teaching Verence Alcanses basic aerobatics. We had lots of flights!

Yesterday 11 February 2026 we had a good day flying Control Line at the football field of Mapua colleges at Cabuyao Laguna. We tried out this F2B prototype we’re going to call “La Cumparsita”. Good flyer with only a few correctible issues.

Ernie Abion proudly showing off the F2G (FAI electric speed) Trainer he built and John Lester Baradas flew to a remarkable speed of 144 kph! Remember this is a TRAINER to get newbies accustomed to CONTROL LINE SPEED.

Flight photo of the pusher trainer. It flies quite well, not too fast, and very steady. It’s a bit heavy as it has aluminum tail booms and a long nose plus lead ballast. Ernie Motilla Abion was the test pilot who found the plane stable but had not much of a glide when the motor quit. An improved design is in the works.

Control line Pusher trainer. Stabilizer and elevator kept out of the prop blast. When elevator was in the prop blast the plane was too sensitive. Plane to be tested soon. Will post flight photos.

The ducted fan control line flies! Rather well too! With a little more tweaking it could probably complete the entire F2B schedule. Test pilot was Karl Baradas. The plane has a good “feel” on the lines, and smooth maneuvers. However, it kinda “shrieks” in flight. Sorry, it’s not quiet. (Test flight conducted at the track/football field of MMCL—Mapua Malayan College Laguna at Cabuyao, Laguna, Luzon, Philippines) Now is this the first time in the world to put a ducted fan on a control line model—instead of a pulse jet?
