The Peer Facilitator Club of Davao del Norte State College shared yellow ribbons with random students as a simple yet meaningful gesture of hope, courage, compassion, and support in observance of Su***de Prevention Month.

Each ribbon serves as a reminder that behind every smile is a story, and sometimes, all a person needs is to know that someone cares. We may never know the battles others are silently facing, but through kindness, understanding, and genuine connection, we can let them know that they are not alone.

A small yellow ribbon can carry a powerful messageโ€”a reminder that no one has to face their struggles alone.

[RAISING AWARENESS] Your presence matters. You matter. ๐Ÿ’›

September is Su***de Prevention Month, a time to remind ourselves that reaching out, listening without judgment, and creating spaces where people feel safe to speak can make a difference.

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, the country recorded an estimated su***de mortality rate of 2.7 deaths per 100,000 population in 2024, with the rate among males at 4.4 and females at 1.0. Globally, the World Health Organization reports that more than 720,000 people die by su***de each year.

The need for compassionate support remains urgent.

At DNSC, we continue to foster a community where students and employees can connect, speak up, seek help, and be heard. Sometimes, a simple โ€œKumusta ka?โ€ can open the door to a much-needed conversation.
