The Union of Filipino Tourism Students – DNSC Chapter joined the Panabo City Familiarization Tour on September 24, 2025, in celebration of World Tourism Month. Organized by the LGU of Panabo City through its Tourism Cultural Development Office, the activity featured visits to key destinations including Museo Panabo, Panabo Mangrove Forest Park, Anflo Industrial Estate, Panabo Baywalk, and Agriya Naturetainment.

This initiative fostered learning, cultural awareness, and sustainable tourism practices, aligned with the UNSDGs.

In celebration of World Tourism Month 2025, selected Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students of Davao del Norte State College took part in the Panabo City Familiarization Tour on September 24, 2025. Organized by the Local Government Unit of Panabo City through its Tourism Cultural Development Office, the one-day tour aimed to showcase Panabo’s vibrant tourism destinations and deepen appreciation for the city’s natural and cultural heritage. The students were guided throughout the tour by Ms. Hariza Mae Magallon, BSTM Instructor.

Participants visited several key destinations, including Museo Panabo, Panabo Mangrove Forest Park, HEAD Sport, Anflo Industrial Estate, Panabo Baywalk, and Agriya Naturetainment, gaining first-hand exposure to Panabo’s tourism offerings.

The initiative also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) — SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals — by fostering learning opportunities, promoting local economic activities, and encouraging collaborative efforts to sustain tourism development.

The Union of Filipino Tourism Students – DNSC Chapter successfully held its second general meeting today, September 19, 2025, at the ILEGG Conference Room. The meeting focused on the program’s preparations for the upcoming World Tourism Month competition in Tagum City, alongside discussions on the selection of Tourism Chambers, BSTM merchandise, and forthcoming organizational events.

By addressing these key matters, the assembly highlighted the chapter’s ongoing dedication to ensuring active participation, well-coordinated initiatives, and a strong collective presence in both institutional and community engagements.

The Union of Filipino Tourism Students – DNSC Chapter carried out an inclusive initiative aimed at extending support to Deaf students of the program. As part of the activity, first-year students were provided with writing tabs and other educational supplies to further aid them in their academic pursuits. These tools are expected to enhance learning accessibility, encourage active participation in classes, and support their personal and professional growth within the program.

To strengthen inclusivity, the UFTS-DNSC also appointed a Deaf Student Representative to ensure proper coordination and equal dissemination of information within the organization. The appointment highlights the importance of representation in fostering collaboration and creating a more accessible academic environment for all.

The initiative underscores the organization’s commitment to ensuring that no student is left behind. By promoting equal access to resources and opportunities, it directly contributes to UNSDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, reinforcing the importance of inclusivity in education.

The Union of Filipino Tourism Students – DNSC Chapter formally announces the issuance of Executive Order No. 05, Series of 2025, entitled “Enforcement of All the Monetary Contribution Participation Among All the BSTM Students for UFTS Programs and Projects, with Exemptions for UFTS-DNSC Officers and FSG Officers.”

This Executive Order was crafted by UFTS-DNSC President Ms. Sofia M. Oquias and duly approved by UFTS-DNSC Adviser Mr. Aunel C. Guillergan, MM-ITHM. The order emphasizes the importance of collective participation and shared responsibility in ensuring the successful implementation of organizational programs and projects that benefit the BSTM community.

The Union of Filipino Tourism Students – DNSC Chapter held its first general meeting today, September 15, 2025, via Google Meeting. The discussion centered on updates regarding the organization’s engagements for the World Tourism Month 2025 and highlighted the opening of applications for the Tourism Chambers.

Additional matters concerning upcoming initiatives and activities were also addressed, ensuring members remain informed and actively involved. This general meeting reinforces the chapter’s commitment to fostering participation, transparency, and collaboration among its members.
