ALS SEMINAR: EDUCATING, EMPOWERING, AND INSPIRING 📚💚

As part of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2026, which is one of the activities in celebration of Araw ng Barangay San Francisco, highlighted the importance of education through a Seminar on Alternative Learning System (ALS) held on August 29, 2026.

The seminar was facilitated by Ms. Leah C. Salvacion, ALS Teacher from Panabo Central District with 60 participants. She provided meaningful information about the Alternative Learning System (ALS)—a flexible and inclusive educational pathway that gives learners a chance to continue their education, develop their skills, and work toward their dreams.

Through Ms. Salvacion’s insights and experiences, participants were reminded that education is for everyone, and it is never too late to learn. 📖✨

🌟 ALS LEARNERS UNLOCK NEW SKILLS, NEW POSSIBILITIES! 🌟

🧴🌿 Livelihood Skills Training Program for ALS Learners
Dishwashing Liquid Making and Herbal Liniment Making

On August 19, 2026, ALS learners from Panabo Central District and Panabo South District I came together for a meaningful and hands-on learning experience through the Livelihood Skills Training Program, conducted by the Alternative Learning System (ALS) of Panabo City in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Panabo City.

With 60 ALS learners participating, the training provided practical knowledge and hands-on experience in making dishwashing liquid and herbal liniment. Learners explored the materials, tools, proper procedures, safety precautions, production costs, and possible selling prices—skills that may help them pursue small-scale livelihood and income-generating opportunities.

👨‍🏫 Leading the hands-on training was Mr. Lysander V. Gran, Manpower Development Assistant, who served as the facilitator/Trainer for the activity.

The activity reminds us that ALS learning goes beyond academics. It equips learners with practical skills that can inspire self-reliance, creativity, entrepreneurship, and productive opportunities for the future. 💚

Strengthening ALS Through Collaborative Professional Learning

The Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers of Panabo Central District, Panabo North District, Panabo South District I, and Panabo South District II successfully conducted their respective Learning Action Cell (LAC) Sessions in support of the implementation of the Revised ALS Curriculum.

Each district showcased its commitment to improving instructional delivery through the development of high-quality, curriculum-aligned learning resources. Panabo Central District focused on Crafting Curriculum-Aligned Weekly Lesson Logs, Panabo North District on the Development of Weekly Lesson Logs and Learning Materials, Panabo South District I on Bridging Curriculum and Instruction through the Development of Weekly Lesson Logs, Activity Sheets, and Slide Presentations, while Panabo South District II conducted Enhancing Instructional Competence through Crafting Learning Packages, highlighting the creation of activity sheets, weekly lesson logs, and slide decks.

These collaborative initiatives strengthened teachers' instructional competencies, encouraged the sharing of best practices, and promoted the production of meaningful and learner-centered instructional materials. Through continuous professional learning, the ALS districts of Panabo City remain united in their mission of delivering quality, inclusive, and responsive education for every ALS learner.

Together, we collaborate, innovate, and empower learners—one lesson at a time.

🌟 Empowering Dreams, Building Futures! 🌟

The 5th Alternative Learning System (ALS) Life Skills Summit cm Learners’ Career Pathways was successfully held today, May 26, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Gym, Panabo City, with the active participation of 67 ALS learner-participants together with supportive stakeholders and partners.

The summit aimed to strengthen the life skills, career awareness, and employability of ALS learners through meaningful discussions, forums, and gallery walk activities. Various stakeholders and partners such as Public Employment services Office (PESO), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, TADECO Incorporated, Panabo Multi-Purpose Cooperative, St. Michael Academy for Security Professional Inc., and Panabo City National High School actively participated in sharing their services, programs, and career opportunities beneficial to ALS learners.

The event was also graced by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Basilio P. Mana-ay Jr., who inspired everyone with his meaningful message: “Be like a bamboo, not a narra tree. Flexibility is most important to survive when a strong storm comes.” His words reminded learners and participants about the importance of resilience, adaptability, and perseverance in facing life’s challenges.

The event became a meaningful avenue for collaboration among ALS implementers, stakeholders, and community partners in supporting lifelong learning and career development. Through the continued support and participation of partner agencies, the ALS program remains committed to empowering learners toward becoming productive, skilled, and responsible members of society.
