Cruz Elementary School! ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

Sta. Cruz Elementary School successfully conducted its School-Based Learning Action Cell (SLAC) Sessions on July 02, 09, and 16, 2026, following the rescheduling of its originally planned dates on June 24โ€“26, 2026.

Anchored on the Early Numeracy Initiative, the SLAC sessions aimed to strengthen foundational mathematics skills among learners by enhancing teachersโ€™ instructional practices. The initiative emphasizes building number sense, problem-solving abilities, and learner confidence through developmentally appropriate and evidence-based strategies.

The need for this SLAC was underscored by the results of the Rapid Mathematics Assessment conducted at the beginning of the school year for both Key Stage 1 (Grades 1โ€“3) and Key Stage 2 (Grades 4โ€“6), which revealed low performance levels. These results highlighted critical learning gaps and called for immediate and collaborative interventions among educators.

Through the SLAC sessions, teachers engaged in meaningful discussions and capacity-building activities focused on:
Strengthening formative assessment practices to provide timely and targeted feedback
Enhancing strategies in teaching fundamental operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
โ€ข Developing learnersโ€™ skills in composing and decomposing numbers
Deepening understanding of fractions, patterns, pictographs, and probability
Supporting learners in distance learning to ensure inclusive and equitable education

These sessions also reinforced the importance of structured and coherent Mathematics Modules as essential tools in guiding both teachers and learners toward mastery of key competencies.

Sta. Cruz Elementary School extends its heartfelt appreciation to our resource speakers, Sir Reynaldo Salvacio and Sir Ulyses Macatol, for their valuable insights and expertise that greatly enriched the learning experience of our teachers.

Together, we continue to strive for improved instructional practices and better learning outcomes in Mathematicsโ€”ensuring that no learner is left behind.
