Here, we celebrate the achievements, endeavors, and camaraderie within our maritime community. ⚓🌊 The College of Maritime Education here in Palompon Institute of Technology is a 4-year course implementing a 3+1 scheme. This means that the maritime students have to complete classroom instructions for 3 years and 1 year of onboard training. The COMED is an International pa

rtnership with the Royal Dutch Shipowners Association (KVNR), based in Rotterdam, Netherlands since 2001. Since the partnership started, KVNR has been providing onboard training slots for PIT cadets. The 1-year onboard training of cadets is equivalent to 40 units in the COMED curriculum distributed into 2 terms of 20 units per term. The COMED is also an ISO 9001:2015 Certified College by the Det Norske Veritas (DNV). This means that PIT-COMED, in general, has since been long been implementing its quality standard system. Having a quality management system puts COMED at an advantage in terms of flexibility and effectiveness in providing quality maritime education to its students. PIT-COMED is also grateful to the new family, the NOVA College has just joined this year 2022. NOVA College is a vocational education training college located at various lactations in the Netherlands.

Due to the 6.7 magnitude earthquake that struck the City of Bogo, Cebu at 10:04 PM tonight, aftershocks and possible structural damages are expected in the affected areas.

In line with this, Palompon Institute of Technology announces the suspension of work and classes on October 1, 2025 (Wednesday) for the safety and well-being of all students, faculty, and personnel.

However, members of the Safety Committee and OIPPD staff are required to report for the conduct of thorough inspections to ensure the security and integrity of school facilities. Building custodians shall surrender the keys (properly label room/building) to the guardhouse.

Everyone is advised to remain alert, prioritize safety, and follow official advisories from the authorities.
