DepEd Leyte Concludes Three-Saturday Online Training
on Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Leyte, through its Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), concluded today, July 11, 2026, the third and final session of the Online Training of Teachers on the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum, capping a three-Saturday series that began on June 27 and continued on July 4.

Held virtually from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on each training date pursuant to a Division Memorandum issued by the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, the activity aimed to deepen senior high school teachers' understanding of the strengthened curriculum and to enhance their capacity for its effective implementation in the classroom.

The training covered six core subjects under the Strengthened SHS Curriculum — Effective Communication, Mabisang Komunikasyon, General Mathematics, General Science, Life and Career Skills, and Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Lipunang Pilipino. Teachers handling these subjects were required to participate, each subject running as a separate virtual track with its own set of sessions, workshops, and resource persons or learning facilitators.

Each Saturday combined synchronous sessions in the morning with asynchronous workshops in the afternoon, during which participants worked on training requirements such as lesson plan development and presentation. Across the six tracks, sessions tackled the features of the Strengthened SHS Curriculum and its instructional design framework, subject-specific curriculum content, the selection of appropriate teaching strategies, and the assessment of learning.

Teachers who completed the training will earn service credits, while non-teaching and teaching-related personnel who supported the activity will be granted compensatory time-off, in accordance with CSC and DBM Joint Circular No. 2, s. 2024.

The online training forms part of the Division's continuing efforts, through the Curriculum Implementation Division, to equip Senior High School teachers across public and private secondary schools in the division with the knowledge and skills needed to implement the Strengthened SHS Curriculum effectively.
