It started in the year 1959 when the construction of Notre Dame of Milbuk begun. Year 1960 which marked the birth of the school, the foundation on which sprang the whole community. It is situated in the Southernmost part of the island of Mindanao with a population of about 20,000 majority of whom are Muslims. Our school serves both the Christian and Muslim population in the area. This was founded

by the Passionist Priest who spearheaded the realization of a dream to become ways and means where in the educational progress of the Municipality of Palimbang will be uplifted. Through this objective the Basilan Lumber Company (BLC), who was occupying the said area, with the aid of the people who faithfully supported their untiring effort for the welfare of the children. This was the beginning wherein Milbuk had been popular in all sectors and this contributed much for the progress of the place. Before, Notre dame of Milbuk had a few number of graduates, 13 boys and 12 girls who were the first batch who graduated from this school, headed by a Passionist Priest Rev. With its aim it made the school more meaningful and on-going progress for education. The school is fast growing and its services to the community can be summed-up with the words of MECS Director, when he said. the Notre Dame of Milbuk is the most "Philantrophic School" in the Municipality nof Palimbang. Over the past years, little by little the school had increased a number of students which reached from 400 to 500 students and turned out graduates who contributed much to the economic and spiritual uplittment in the lives of the people.

Mental Health Awareness 2025 💚

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated in our Mental Health Awareness Seminar — an inspiring and insightful event dedicated to promoting understanding, empathy, and emotional well-being.

Our sincere thanks to our esteemed guest speakers, Dr. Henzel Embalzado and Ma’am Emma Ruth Mejorado, for sharing their expertise and valuable insights. We also wish to acknowledge Sr. Ellen Casas Panes from Catholic Adorers Eucharist, Sr. Julie Alice Rasolonirina from Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity and Sr. Jocelyn Altamera from Franciscan Sisters Adorers of the Holy Cros for their presence and meaningful contribution to the program. Another special thanks to Maam Rodora Gulosinda, Maam Jean Reyes and Maam Raquisa Reyes for assisting our lovely guests, and lastly to our Spiritual Director Fr. Michealle Tacogue for generously allowing us to use the function hall for our seminar.
