I thought yesterday would be just another birthday… but my little ones turned it into something I’ll never forget. 🎉

They didn’t buy anything fancy—they made it. Every decoration, every detail, every little touch… straight from their hearts. And in that moment, I realized I already have the greatest gift I could ever ask for.

Yesterday I celebrated not just another year of life, but the love that fills it. ❤️

Thank you, my children, for reminding me that the simplest things—made with love—are the most beautiful.

You are not fighting the world — you are training yourself. Each moment of control, patience, and resolve strengthens the version of you that will shape tomorrow. What feels like chaos today is becoming discipline for the future. 🥹

When They Leave and Take a Piece of You

There is a certain weight in the silence that follows a departure. It is not just the absence of footsteps or voices but the quiet realization that something within me has shifted, that a piece of me has been carried away with them. I have always believed that the people who come into our lives, no matter how briefly, leave something behind. But what I never quite prepared for was the feeling of them taking something from me when they go.

I have felt it in many ways—when friends drift apart, when loved ones pass, when students graduate, and even in the simple goodbyes that life insists upon. It is an ache that doesn’t announce itself immediately. Instead, it lingers in the moments when I reach for a familiar presence only to find emptiness. It hides in the songs we once shared, the inside jokes that no longer have a partner, and the spaces that feel too big without them.

Perhaps the most profound of these goodbyes are the ones that come unexpectedly, the ones where no proper closure exists. I have had friendships fade like ink on an old letter, their words once clear but now unreadable. I have seen people I loved walk away, not out of malice, but because life pulled them in a different direction. And I have stood in classrooms, watching students take their final steps out the door, knowing that our connection, no matter how strong, will inevitably become a memory.

The hardest part is knowing that when they go, they take something intangible yet deeply real—a version of myself that only existed with them. With each farewell, I wonder if I am becoming less of myself or if, instead, I am simply evolving. Because as much as people take pieces of me, they also leave parts of themselves behind. I carry laughter from conversations long past, wisdom from shared experiences, and love in forms I never expected.

In the end, I have come to accept that being human means being a mosaic of all the people who have touched my life. Some pieces remain bright and intact, while others fade or break away. And though it hurts when they leave, I remind myself that I, too, have left pieces of me with them. Maybe, somewhere in the world, someone is reminiscing about our shared moments, feeling the same bittersweet ache that I do.

And maybe, just maybe, that means we never really lose each other at all.
