🇵🇭 NATIONAL HEROES DAY 2026

Today, August 31, 2026, the SSLG-LNHS and Locloc National High School join the nation in commemorating National Heroes Day, honoring the known and unknown Filipino heroes whose courage, sacrifice, service, and contributions helped shape our country.

But how much do we really know about Araw ng mga Bayani? 👀

DID YOU KNOW? National Heroes Day wasn’t always celebrated on the last Monday of August.

📜 Did you know? The story goes back to 1931, when Act No. 3827 established National Heroes Day on the last Sunday of August.

📅 Did you know? Years later, Republic Act No. 9492 moved its observance to the last Monday of August—the date we celebrate today.

👤 Did you know? This day honors not only the famous names in our history books, but also the known and unknown Filipino heroes whose courage, sacrifice, service, and contributions helped shape our nation.

🤯 But here’s something many don’t know: The Philippines has no single definitive list of officially proclaimed National Heroes. The nine personalities commonly listed as “National Heroes” were recommended in 1995, but the recommendation was never followed by a final proclamation declaring all nine as such.

⭐ So, what makes someone a bayani?

It isn’t simply a title. Heroism can be found in courage, sacrifice, service, leadership, and lasting contributions to the Filipino people.

This National Heroes Day, let’s look beyond the names we already know and discover the stories behind the people who helped shape our nation.

Ngayong araw, hindi lamang natin ginugunita ang mga kilalang bayani sa ating kasaysayan na nag-alay ng buhay para sa ating kalayaan. Ipinagdiriwang din natin ang ating mga “modern-day heroes”—ang mga g**o, healthcare workers, OFWs, magsasaka, at bawat Pilipinong patuloy na nagbayanihan at nagsasakripisyo para sa ikabubuti ng ating bansa.

Ang dugo at pawis ng nakaraan ang nagbigay sa atin ng kasalukuyan. Nawa’y maging inspirasyon sila upang maging bayani rin tayo sa ating sariling mga paraan araw-araw. 💙❤️💛

Today, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and love for the country of 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼 “𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆” 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗝𝗿. His life reminds us that standing for what is right takes courage and that our actions can inspire change.

Sa bawat pahina ng ating 𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻, may mga bayaning nag-iwan ng 𝗧𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗚, 𝗦𝗔𝗞𝗥𝗜𝗣𝗜𝗦𝗬𝗢, 𝗔𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗠𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗔 𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡. Ang kanilang mga kwento ay hindi lamang bahagi ng nakaraan. Ito ay 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗬𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗔 𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗞𝗨𝗬𝗔𝗡 at gabay sa pagbuo ng mas magandang kinabukasan.

Ang kasaysayan ay hindi lamang mga pangalan, petsa, at pangyayaring nakasulat sa mga aklat. Ito ay kwento ng ating mga ninuno, ng kanilang mga 𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗣, 𝗣𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗞𝗜𝗕𝗔𝗞𝗔, 𝗞𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗡, 𝗔𝗧 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗠𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗔 𝗕𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡. ✨

Ngayong 𝗔𝗚𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗢 𝟭–𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, balikan natin ang mga kwentong humubog sa ating 𝗣𝗔𝗚𝗞𝗔𝗞𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗡 𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗢. Kilalanin natin ang ating mga bayani, pahalagahan ang kanilang mga sakripisyo, at ipagpatuloy ang mga aral na kanilang iniwan. 🇵🇭

KAMUSTA?

Saan ka dadalhin ng Barkada mo? 🌟✨

Kumusta ang takbo ng inyong puso at isipan ngayong linggo? Gusto muna namin kayong kamustahin, kasama ang mga taong nakapaligid sa inyo. Ang tunay na barkada, hindi lang kasama sa tawanan, kalokohan, o galaan. Sila ang mga tahimik na sandigan na may malaking ambag sa kung sino ka ngayon at bukas. Kaya naman, dumaan muna tayo sa isang mabilis na ‘Heart Check’ para sa inyong samahan:

🤝 Respeto sa Desisyon – Hindi ka nila didiktahan; rerespetuhin nila ang landas na nais mong tahakin.

🎯 Suporta sa Pangarap – Sila ang unang magpapalakpak at magpapalakas ng loob mo kapag pinanghihinaan ka.

🌱 Alaga sa Kalusugan – Hindi ka nila itutulak sa bisyo; hihilahin ka nila paitaas tungo sa mas mabubuting gawi.

💪 Salo sa Kagipitan – Hindi ka iiwan kapag bagsak ka; sabay kayong babangon sa bawat hamon.

🛑 Paggalang sa “Hindi” – Alam nila ang iyong hangganan at hindi ka pipilitin sa mga bagay na labag sa loob mo kung ang sagot mo sa lahat ng ito ay isang malaking “YES" napakaswerte mo! Nahanap mo na ang pamilyang pinili mo. Huwag mo na silang pakakawalan. Ingatan, pahalagahan, at ipagmalaki mo sila dahil dito sa BKD, naniniwala kami na ang isang Healthy Barkada ay susi sa isang mas ligtas at masayang komunidad.

AGOSTO: BUWAN NG WIKA 2026; Wikang Filipino 🇵🇭📖

Ating ipagdiwang ngayong buwan ng Agosto ang 𝗕𝗨𝗪𝗔𝗡 𝗡𝗚 𝗪𝗜𝗞𝗔 at 𝗕𝗨𝗪𝗔𝗡 𝗡𝗚 𝗞𝗔𝗦𝗔𝗬𝗦𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗡. Sama-sama nating pahalagahan, gamitin, at ipagmalaki ang Wikang Filipino, isang mahalagang bahagi ng ating pagkatao, kultura, at pagkakakilanlan bilang Pilipino. ❤️

Sa bawat salitang ating binibigkas, sinusulat, at ipinapasa sa susunod na henerasyon, buhay natin ang ating kasaysayan, tradisyon, at kulturang Pilipino.

The Locloc National High School community extends its best wishes to Triztan Vincenth R. Mayo as he represents Zambales and the Philippines at the World Youth Basketball Championship in Singapore from August 6–9, 2026.

Earning a place on the international stage reflects years of discipline, perseverance, and commitment to the sport. As the tournament brings together promising young athletes from across the globe, Triztan carries not only his passion for basketball but also the pride of his school, province, and country.
