Smoking and Drinking: A Deadly Combination

Smoking and Drinking are seen by many as complimentary: two habits that go hand in hand. While people who smoke are more likely to drink and vice-versa, this isn't a good idea. Smoking is dangerous, and doing both is even worse. And sadly some students is one of those.

That's why we do this campaign advocacy of No Smoking and Alcohol Drinking.

Environment has a significant influence and growth and development of adolescents, and a negative environment is a particular hindrance to normal personality formation. In addition to temporary effects on adolescence, such negative environments can also have more long-term effects, even into adulthood. In particular, adolescents spend a significant of time around school, and they are influenced more around their school environment. Adolescents are immature and and therefore are susceptible to the influence of a negative environment, and this situation is being addressed by society, Therefore, they are more likely to be tempted by risky behaviors such as smoking and alcohol drinking, due to the environmental influence.

Be aware of the dangers associated with smoking and drinking so you can make an informed decision about the way you live your life and care for your health.

Alcohol

Getting drunk regularly can have potentially serious physical, social and academic effects.

Even drinking to excess just occasionally can be damaging.

In the short term, drinking too much can impair academic performance because it affects concentration and makes you more likely to miss classes, hand in work late and do badly in exams.

It can also put you at immediate risk of serious harm, ranging from date r**e to car crashes.

In the longer term, regularly drinking too much can cause liver disease, an increased risk of heart attack, weight gain and a number of different cancers.

Smoking

As with alcohol, there can be a lot of social pressure for students to smoke.

Smoking increases your risk of lung cancer and heart disease.

It prematurely ages the skin and triples your chance of getting wrinkles around your eyes and mouth.

It also causes impotence and reduced s***m count in men, and reduces fertility in women.

It can lead to gum disease, makes the body store fat around the waist and increases the risk of cellulite.

And also don't assume that smoking will help you through the stress of exams.

Staying safe: Reducing Your Risk From Smoking And Drinking

The risks of smoking and drinking are serious, especially if you combine the two habits. This is why reducing your risk is essential, and the best approach is to quit one or (ideally) both habits, or at very least cut back or switch to less harmful alternatives.

Overall, quitting smoking and drinking is the best thing you can do for your health, but if you can't do either or both of these, minimizing the risk to your health should be the next big priority.
