Headed by School Principal Elizabeth F. Gutierrez, the teachers of Mapagong-Alupaye Elementary School (MAES) actively participated in the Joint Viewing Session and Orientation on Learning Systems Reform Policies for Teachers, held on May 14, 2026, at the Pagbilao East Elementary School Covered Court.

The activity brought together educators and representatives from various schools under Pagbilao District I, aiming to deepen their understanding of the latest educational reforms and policy directions set by the Department of Education.

The orientation was designed to equip teachers with updated knowledge regarding learning system reforms that promote quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education. Through meaningful discussions and presentations, participants gained valuable insights concerning policy implementation, curriculum improvements, and effective teaching practices aligned with the departmentโ€™s goals and standards.

MAES teachers displayed great enthusiasm and commitment throughout the activity, recognizing that continuous professional development is essential in delivering better and more relevant learning experiences for every learner. Aligned with DepEd Memorandum No. 0350, s. 2026 entitled โ€œConduct of Division Monitoring on Safety and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Schoolsโ€ and in support of Project Handa: Schools Readiness 2026, Mapagong-Alupaye Elementary School (MAES) successfully conducted a comprehensive monitoring activity focusing on School Safety Readiness, Wash in Schools (WINS), and the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program.

The activity aimed to ensure the schoolโ€™s readiness in promoting a safe, healthy, and disaster-resilient learning environment for all learners and school personnel.

The monitoring was spearheaded by Sir Rommel Roperez, District SDRRM Coordinator and Safety Officer II, together with Nurse II Meybel C. Nantes. Through their technical assistance and expertise, the school was guided in assessing and strengthening its implementation of disaster preparedness measures, school safety protocols, WINS practices, and sustainable gardening initiatives.

As part of the activity, the team carefully evaluated the schoolโ€™s compliance and preparedness in relation to Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) standards under Project Handa. The Wash in Schools (WINS) program was also assessed to ensure proper hygiene, sanitation, and health practices are consistently observed within the school environment. Furthermore, the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program was monitored to promote nutrition awareness, environmental responsibility, and food sustainability among learners.

This activity highlighted MAESโ€™ strong commitment to continuously improving programs and practices that support learner safety, wellness, and overall preparedness. Valuable recommendations and observations provided by the monitoring team will greatly contribute to strengthening the schoolโ€™s existing initiatives and maintaining high-quality standards in school operations.

School Principal, Maโ€™am Elizabeth F. Gutierrez, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the monitoring team for the technical assistance and guidance extended to the school. She emphasized that the activity serves as a meaningful opportunity for growth and continuous improvement in delivering safe, inclusive, and learner-centered education.

The ARAL Summer Program Orientation of Mapagong-Alupaye Elementary School (MAES) was successfully conducted on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 9:00 AM, under the leadership and facilitation of Principal I, Maโ€™am Elizabeth F. Gutierrez.

The activity gathered five selected learners together with their parents to orient them on the implementation of the ARAL Program.

The orientation aimed to provide parents and learners with a clear understanding of the programโ€™s objectives, schedules, and expectations, emphasizing the importance of academic support, active participation, and continuous learning during the summer period.

Also present during the activity were the dedicated MAES teacher-tutor Maโ€™am Raquel Ayala, who will guide the learners in Reading for KS1 and Mathematics for KS2.

Representatives from LGU partners also extended their support through the presence of Sir Anjo Portea and Maโ€™am Christine Joy Rivarez, highlighting the strong collaboration between the school and community stakeholders in promoting quality education.

The orientation concluded positively, with parents and learners expressing their support, enthusiasm, and readiness to participate in the program.

Through the combined efforts of the school, teachers, parents, and community partners, the ARAL Program is expected to become a meaningful avenue for improving learnersโ€™ academic performance, confidence, and love for learning.

Mapagong-Alupaye Elementary School successfully conducted the โ€œBote Mo, Premyo Koโ€ โ€“ Plastic Palit School Supplies activity, initiated by Mayor Angelica Portes through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).

This meaningful initiative aims to promote environmental responsibility while supporting learners through the exchange of recyclable plastic bottles for school supplies.

The activity was graced by the presence of Executive Assistant to the Mayor, Mr. Joeboy Dabuet, representing the local government, along with dedicated MENRO personnel including Forester Ronelo Rustia, Kristine Mae Eud, Irish Angeline Villa, Dalla Tiosen, and other staff who actively facilitated the program.

Also present were the dedicated teachers of MAES, active parents, and SPTA Vice President, Mrs. Gloria Acedillo, whose presence highlighted the strong collaboration between the school, personnel, and stakeholders.

Principal Elizabeth F. Gutierrez formally expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Angelica Portes, Forester Ronelo Rustia, and the entire MENRO team for choosing MAES as one of the beneficiaries of this meaningful project.

The program was enthusiastically participated in by learners, SELG and YES-O Officers, who took part in collecting and exchanging plastic waste.

This activity not only provided essential school supplies but also instilled the value of environmental stewardship among the MAES learners.

Through this collaborative effort, the school community continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainability, cleanliness, and support for learnersโ€™ educational needs.

Mapagong-Alupaye Elementary School (MAES) successfully underwent the School Monitoring on the Utilization of the DPRP Downloaded Fund for 2025, in compliance with Division Memorandum No. 044, s. 2026.

This initiative ensures that funds allocated for schools affected by Typhoons Ompong, Tino, and Uwan are properly utilized, managed, and accounted for in accordance with existing government guidelines.

The activity was conducted in collaboration with the Division Office, aiming to promote efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the use of public funds. It also strengthens coordination among school officials and stakeholders to support continuous learning delivery and post-disaster school recovery efforts.

The monitoring team was led by Mr. Arvin T. Repaso, PDO II, who spearheaded the validation and review of financial documents, liquidation reports, and supporting records. His guidance ensured that all processes adhered to the standards set by the Department of Education, particularly in terms of accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting and auditing regulations.

The activity was facilitated with the full support and cooperation of the school administration, headed by Principal Elizabeth F. Gutierrez.

Gutierrez expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the technical assistance and guidance provided, which greatly helped the school ensure compliance and proper management of funds.
