Ortiz, thrives with the joint effort of volunteered parents and dedicated 4Ps members.
📜 Legal Basis
✅DM 095, s. 2018 is anchored on earlier DepEd issuances such as DM 293, s. 2007, which encouraged schools to establish gardens for the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP).
✅It is supported by the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 (RA 10533) and the Governance of Basic Education Act of 2001 (RA 9155), mandating holistic learner support and community involvement.
✅The memorandum directs all public elementary and secondary schools to sustain GPP nationwide.
🎯 Objectives
✅Ensure a continuous supply of fresh vegetables for school feeding programs.
✅Promote healthy eating habits among learners.
✅Strengthen school-community collaboration in food production.
✅Encourage environmental awareness and agricultural skills among students.
💡 Rationale
✅Nutrition & Health: Combat malnutrition by supplementing feeding programs with fresh produce.
✅Food Security: Provide sustainable sources of vegetables within schools.
✅Community Engagement: Involve parents, 4Ps members, and local stakeholders in school initiatives.
✅Education: Teach learners practical agricultural skills and environmental responsibility.
Grounded on its legal basis, the program’s objective is to ensure food security and promote nutrition among learners, while its rationale highlights the importance of environmental stewardship and community partnership. Together, we grow not just gardens, but healthier futures for our children. 🌱👩🌾👨🌾
