Sa bisa ng Republic Act No. 6741, opisyal na itinatakda ang Agosto 19, bilang Special Non-Working Public Holiday sa Lalawigan ng Quezon, Lalawigan ng Aurora, at Quezon City, bilang paggunita sa anibersaryo ng kapanganakan ni dating Pangulong Manuel L. Quezon.

Ang araw na ito ay pagkakataon upang alalahanin at bigyang-pugay ang kanyang mga ambag sa bayan at ang kanyang mahalagang papel sa kasaysayan ng ating bansa.

Kaugnay ng inilabas na Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 12 ng DOST-PAGASA ngayong Agosto 18, 2026, ganap na ika-lima ng umaga (5:00 am), dahil sa umiiral na Southwest Monsoon o HABAGAT, ang pagpapasya hinggil sa PAGLIPAT SA ALTERNATIBONG PAMAMARAAN NG PAGKATUTO at PAGSUSUSPINDE ng klase sa LAHAT ng antas sa mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralan ay ipinauubaya sa pagpapasya ng mga Punong Bayan at Punong Lungsod ng mga lungsod at bayan sa Lalawigan ng Quezon, at/o sa mga kinauukulang pinuno ng paaralan, kaalinsabay ang pagsasaalang-alang sa kalagayan ng panahon at iba pang mahahalagang lokal na sitwasyon sa kani-kanilang nasasakupan.

For the safety of our learners, parents and legal guardians have the primary responsibility to decide whether their children should attend school when travel to and from school is unsafe due to flooding, heavy rainfall, or other weather-related hazards.

Their decision shall be respected, and learners shall not be penalized for non-attendance under these circumstances.

: Alinsunod sa Office of the President Memorandum Circular No. 127 ang trabaho sa government offices at klase sa lahat ng antas sa lalawigan ng Quezon ay inililipat sa alternative work arrangement at alternative learning modality mula alas-12 ng tanghali, bunsod ng masamang panahon dulot ng .

Ang mga ahensyang may kinalaman sa paghahatid ng mga pangunahing serbisyo at serbisyong pangkalusugan, paghahanda at pagtugon sa sakuna, at iba pang mahahalagang serbisyo ay magpapatuloy sa kanilang operasyon at magbibigay ng kinakailangang serbisyo.
