The Saint Columban College Reserve Officers' Training Corps Unit (SCCROTCU), under the supervision of COL AFRED E RAMONES AGS (GSC) PA - Commandant, 1LT RODOLFO R MARTIN PA (RES) - Assistant Commandant, SSg Maricel M Laag (AGS) PA - Admin NCO, Training Staffs, GMAs, together with the Corps of Cadets led by CDT LTC CHYLSEA T EDULAN 1CL and the Advance ROTC Officers, the ROTC classroom instruction became successfully conducted on 22 AUGUST 2026 at SAINT COLUMBAN COLLEGE- BUENAVISTA CAMPUS.

The formation commenced at exactly 0700H and concluded at 1200H. It started with the Flag-Raising Ceremony, followed by the filling out of the attendance matrix. Thereafter, the cadets assembled in the classroom and proceeded with the Military Science 1 (MS-1) classroom instruction.

This ROTC formation highlighted the lecture on Disaster Preparedness delivered by Cpl Elbert Fuentes PA (Res) and the lecture on Drills and Ceremonies delivered by PFC Jv Gil Silanga PA (Res) at the SCC Buenavista Campus. The activity emphasized the importance of service, readiness, and discipline, while the lectures equipped the cadets with essential knowledge in disaster response, emergency planning, proper military bearing, and ceremonial procedures

The formation ended at 1200H, with the Cadets led by the Corps Commander, CDT LTC CHYLSEA T EDULAN 1CL, together with her ExO, Staffs, and advance ROTC Cadet Officers, demonstrating unified support and diligence in the performance of their duties.

On 20 August, 2026, the SCCROTCU participated in a food pack donation activity in support of the 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion, Philippine Army, held at Balay Bisaya, Barangay Dao, Pagadian City.

The activity brought together military personnel, reservists, barangay officials, DSWD personnel, ROTC Advance officers, and civilian volunteers, united by a common purpose of extending assistance and showing support to members of the communities.

The participation of the SCCROTCU Cadets officers reflected their commitment to the values of service, compassion, and solidarity. Through the distribution of food packs, the cadet officers joined with different sectors in providing assistance to the people and promoting the spirit of BAYANIHAN.

More than the food packs distributed, the activity served as a reminder that meaningful service can be seen in simple acts of kindness and generosity. It also strengthened the partnership among the military, government agencies, local officials, reservists, ROTC cadet officers, and civilians in working together for the welfare of the community.

On 15 August 2026, the SCCROTCU participated in the 10th BLOOD DONATION ACTIVITY in celebration of the 43rd RESCOM, PA Founding Anniversary of the Regional Community Defense Group (RESCOM, PA) with the theme of "𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘨 𝘯𝘢 𝘛𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘣𝘶𝘰 𝘯𝘨 𝘓𝘢𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘒𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘭". The simultaneous activity was spearheaded by COL ARNOLD L GASALATAN INF (MNSA) PA, 9RCDG Group Commander, and held at the Covered Court, Barangay Hall, Dao, Pagadian City.

The event brought together various sectors, including military personnel, reservists, barangay personnel, civilian volunteers and ROTC cadets, united by a common purpose of extending service beyond the confines of training and into the community.

The participation of the SCCROTCU Cadets reflected their commitment to the values of service, compassion, and solidarity. By taking part in the blood donation activity, they contributed to an initiative that promotes community welfare and exemplifies the spirit of selfless service—proving that even a single act of generosity can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
