The City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) personnel and the Research and Planning Section head, Mr. OMAR F. BONGO successfully conducted a Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Symposium at St. Columban College, Buenavista Campus. The key highlight was the discussion plunging into Preparedness and Proactivity of the community.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: COC Pinning Ceremony and Feast Day Celebration of Saint Michael the Archangel

Today, September 28, 2024, at the Saint Columban College Elementary Department, the College of Criminology held their pinning ceremony and the celebration of Saint Michael feast day with the theme "Kasaulogan sa Pagpasalamat ug Pag-inambitay sa Gasa uban ni Sr. San Miguel."

Saint Michael the Archangel is commonly invoked as a protector against darkness and defender of the innocent— aligned with the core mission of criminal justice systems to protect society and their rights.

His role as a celestial warrior and symbol of justice stems from the supreme duty of the COC students, the future protectors of the country.

On September 27, 2024, the College of Criminology held an insightful Cybercrime Symposium at the Banquet Hall of Saint Columban College, Buenavista Campus.

The event featured an in-depth lecture on cybercrime, focusing on the crucial topics of online privacy and strategies to safeguard personal information against hackers.

Through engaging lectures and discussions, COC students learned about the latest trends in cyber threats, preventative measures, and gained practical insights into safeguarding their data in today’s digital world.

The symposium proved to be a valuable experience for all, highlighting the importance of staying vigilant and informed in the age of technology.

I wish to convey my heartfelt message to our Saint Columban Law School’s First Takers of the Bar Examinations on the 8th, 11th, and 15th of September, 2024.

Dear SCC First Bar Takers, you stand at the threshold of a monumental moment in your lives, one that is the culmination of years of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance. As you prepare for the Bar Examinations, remember the powerful words of Jesus, “Ephphatha,” meaning “Be opened.” In the same way, we pray that your minds will be opened to recall all the wisdom and knowledge you’ve gained through the years of your studies.

We pray that your hearts will remain open, trusting in God’s perfect timing and plan for your future, and that your spirits will remain resilient, persevering even when the road seems tough. You are not walking this path alone. Know that the entire Saint Columban College family stands firmly behind you, our "Magnificent Five." An opening mass and uniform blessings marked the said ceremony, signifying that the event not only symbolizes a crucial milestone in the interns' professional journey but also highlighted their dedication and preparedness for the challenges ahead.

The "First General Assembly" of the SCC College of Criminology was held on August 29, 2024, at the SCC Elementary Alumni Sport Center, located at J. Zuleta St. in Pagadian City.

The General Assembly’s agenda was Club Orientations & Fire Symposium.This event is important for welcoming new members, facilitating their successful integration into the club, and preserving a secure environment in residences, workplaces, and public areas. Realizing the significance of fire safety, spotting possible fire threats, and being prepared for emergencies can save lives and limit serious property damage.

The event would not be successful and possible without the full coordination and support of the SCC Criminology Department Officers, Club Officers, Admins, and our seniors who organized the said event. Also, we deeply appreciate the Bureau of Fire Protection IX, who lent their knowledge, time, and effort to support the event’s success. The event was engaging, perceptive, and entertaining through various activities hosted by the CSBO&CCI officers.

In fact, the event has enlightened people's hearts, brought camaraderie, and marked the beginning of a snappy new chapter for the 2024–2025 academic year.
