As we begin Term 2, everyone is reminded of the guidelines under DepEd Division Memorandum No. 781, s. 2026, on the conduct of learner- and teacher-related activities.
The memorandum emphasizes the importance of protecting instructional time while also giving due consideration to the rest, family time, and well-being of our teachers and learners.
Among the key reminders:
๐ Learner-related activities should, whenever feasible, be conducted during regular school days.
๐ Training and practice should generally be scheduled after class hours.
๐ Weekend activities should be minimized whenever practicable and conducted only when reasonably necessary and duly authorized.
๐ Prior written parental/guardian consent is required for weekend training and practice involving learners.
๐ Weekend teacher-related activities should be reasonably necessary, duly authorized, and consistent with applicable DepEd policies.
๐ Service beyond applicable regular working hours is voluntary in nature and subject to existing rules on overtime, VSC, or other applicable recognition or compensation, as appropriate.
Let us continue to plan our activities responsiblyโprotecting learning time while respecting the time, safety, and well-being of our teachers, learners, and families.
