REPOST:
It is with deepest sorrow that we, from the Filipino Catholic Mission of Montreal, inform you of the passing of +Sr. Delia Regidor, MIC. She reunited with our Lord yesterday, March 11, 2024 (Philippines time).
+Sr. Delia was born in Padada, Davao del Sur on September 25, 1950 to Nicolas Labuga Regidor and Paz Momo Bravo as the 4th in a family of 13 children, 4 boys and 9 girls.
She entered the MIC congregation on July 4, 1980. She has served the Philippine Province in different capacities, most of all as its Provincial Superior for 3 terms. She was elected Vicar General at the 2015 General Chapter and then, became the non-Canadian Superior General at the 2015 General Chapter.
She devoted her weekends to the Filipino Catholic Mission of Montreal in the formation of catechists, family life movement formation of leaders, and the Evangelization Catechesis among the parishioners. We were truly gifted with her presence.
Though she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer which metastasized to her lungs, lymph nodes and brain, she was able to continue her term until the virtual MIC General Chapter in 2021. She was a woman of faith, an exemplar missionary who was self-given and committed, and a joyful witness of the MIC spirituality of thanksgiving.
The whole Filipino Catholic Mission of Montreal parish, together with Fr. Rommel, the administrators and the whole pastoral council would like to send our sympathies and prayers to her beloved family and to the whole congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception (MIC).
“Eternal rest grant unto +Sr. Delia oh Lord. And let your perpetual light shine upon her and may she rest in peace. Amen.”
