What a Wonderful Initiative by the BJMP!

PDL under the care of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) OROQUIETA CITY have been given a meaningful opportunity to create handmade bags, now proudly displayed and available in malls across Cagayan de Oro.

This is more than just a livelihood project—it is a symbol of hope, rehabilitation, and second chances.

Through this initiative, Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) are empowered to develop their skills, restore their dignity, and contribute positively to society.

What makes this even more commendable is the dedication and compassion shown by the BJMP personnel, who go the extra mile to provide not just security, but genuine care and humane service. Their extra effort and commitment reflect what true public service should be—rooted in empathy, respect, and a belief in the power of change.

TESDA Misamis Occidental paid a courtesy visit to Governor Henry S. Oaminal to present the agency’s accomplishments from 2022 to 2024. Central to the discussion was the submission of a detailed report on scholarship implementation under TESDA’s Area-Based and Demand-Driven (ABDD) approach. This included a complete list of beneficiaries and training programs aligned with the province’s labor market. Governor Oaminal emphasized the importance of reviewing these results to support initiatives in requesting additional scholarship allocations for the current and succeeding years.

Another key point raised during the meeting was the province’s direction toward Training for Employment, especially in the tourism and agriculture sectors. With major tourism developments underway, TESDA MisOcc is aligning its programs to prepare a job-ready workforce and likewise promotes Micro Credentials as short-term, skills-specific qualifications that can quickly connect individuals to employment opportunities.

To sustain impact, TESDA Misamis Occidental and the Provincial Government are strengthening industry collaboration to ensure that training remains relevant and responsive for Misamisnons.
