BatCad High Eco Day: Building a Culture of Environmental Responsibility

Batuan-Cadinglian National High School continues to strengthen its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable school practices through the institutionalization of the BCNHS Eco Day Program, established through an Office Memorandum signed by School Principal sir Marvin M. Rojolast August 2025.

Conducted monthly under the coordination of Mr. Jhonrie Jamonong and the YES-O officers, Eco Day has become an important part of the school’s continuing environmental advocacy. The program provides a regular avenue for learners, teachers, school personnel, and stakeholders to actively participate in maintaining a clean, safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible school environment.

More than a cleanliness activity, Eco Day helps develop discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and environmental consciousness among learners. It reinforces the understanding that caring for the environment is not limited to occasional campaigns but should become a daily habit and a shared culture within the school community.

The program also supports the school’s efforts to address concerns on proper waste segregation and disposal, cleanliness and sanitation, resource conservation, greening initiatives, and the preservation of the school surroundings. By involving learners directly, Eco Day transforms environmental education into meaningful action—demonstrating that simple acts, when consistently practiced and collectively sustained, can create lasting impact.

The active participation and full support of teachers, school personnel, learners, parents, and other stakeholders demonstrate that environmental stewardship is a shared responsibility. Through this collective effort, BCNHS continues to build a school culture where cleanliness is practiced, sustainability is valued, and everyone takes ownership of the environment.

At BatCad High, Eco Day is more than a monthly activity—it is a continuing commitment to nurture responsible learners, promote a healthy learning environment, and protect the future through meaningful action today.

LOOK l KAINANG PAMILYA MAHALAGA DAY 2026

Today, Batuan-Cadinglian National High School joins the celebration of Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day, in accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 136, s. 2026 and Proclamation No. 326, s. 2012. In observance of this meaningful occasion, classes and school activities will be conducted during the first half of the day only. Starting at 1:00 PM onwards, our learners, faculty, and staff are encouraged to spend quality time with their respective families and share a meaningful time together.

This celebration reminds us of the importance of family meals and quality time in strengthening family bonds, fostering unity, and building resilient families. May this afternoon be an opportunity for everyone to pause from their usual routines, gather with their loved ones, and create meaningful memories together. LOOK | District Convergence of Elementary and Secondary School Heads

The Schools District of Oton conducted a meaningful District Convergence of Elementary and Secondary School Heads, bringing together school leaders for an afternoon of collaboration, sharing, and professional dialogue.

Among those who attended was Sir Marvin M. Rojo, School Principal I of Batuan-Cadinglian National High School, who joined fellow school heads in the convergence aimed at strengthening communication, coordination, and collaboration within the district.

The gathering provided an opportunity for school leaders to exchange insights and experiences and further strengthen their commitment to supporting quality education and responsive school leadership.

LOOK | RABIES AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Batuan-Cadinglian National High School successfully conducted a Rabies Awareness Campaign on September 22, 2026, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Oton.

The activity featured informative discussions from Sir Rinold Cagcon, Agricultural Technologist; Ms. Angela Bless Osonia, Agricultural Technologist; and Mr. Edward Aquiola, Administrative Aid IV, who shared valuable information on rabies prevention and responsible pet ownership.

The campaign also included an Open Forum, giving learners the opportunity to ask questions and deepen their understanding of rabies prevention.

Batuan-Cadinglian NHS headed by Sir Marvin M. Rojo, School Principal I extends its sincere appreciation to the LGU of Oton, our resource speakers, teachers, and learners for their active participation and support.

LOOK | COLLABORATIVE EXPERTISE IN ACTION

A fruitful exchange of ideas, expertise, and teamwork took place among the Mathematics Teachers—Sir Norman Sabio, Ma’am Jo An Sumido, Ma’am Emelyn Samson, and Ma’am Beatriz Nina Barranco—and Science Teachers—Ma’am Rhesa Gamayon, Ma’am Ivy Grace Katague, and Ma’am Nelly Manzano of Batuan-Cadinglian National High School.

LOOK | BATUAN-CADINGLIAN NHS WON IN MUNICIPAL KOOP WHIZ CONTEST 2026

Congratulations to our dedicated learners Je Florence Lumacang, Janel May Cabico, and Christine Sorongon for securing 2nd Place in the Municipal Koop Whiz Contest – School Category, held on September 20, 2026, at the Oton Command Center, Oton, Iloilo.

The competition was organized by the Municipality of Oton, headed by Hon. Sofronio L. Fusin Jr., Municipal Mayor, together with Ma’am Maria Rosena M. Jaspe, Municipal Agriculturist, providing learners with an avenue to showcase their knowledge, teamwork, and understanding of cooperatives.

This achievement is a testament to the learners’ hard work, preparation, determination, and teamwork. More than the recognition itself, the experience has given them an opportunity to learn, grow, and confidently represent Batuan-Cadinglian NHS.

LOOK | PLANNING TODAY, OPENING OPPORTUNITIES TOMORROW

School Principal Sir Marvin M. Rojo, together with the Mathematics teachers of Batuan-Cadinglian National High School, convened to discuss essential matters and strengthen the school’s continuing efforts to address gaps in communication and information dissemination, real-time updates, preparation, and purposeful planning.

Sir Rojo emphasized that education goes beyond what happens inside the classroom. Learners grow even more when they are given meaningful opportunities to experience activities, competitions, exposure, and learning-enhancing engagements initiated by education advocates and partner organizations. He also underscored the importance of encouraging and opening opportunities for all learners—not only those who are mathematically inclined, but also those who demonstrate interests, talents, and potential in their respective subject areas.

In this endeavor, teachers play a vital role in leading, encouraging, identifying potentials, and opening doors of opportunity for learners. Through their guidance and support, learners are inspired to step forward, explore their strengths, participate beyond the classroom, and discover possibilities they may not have recognized in themselves.
