Pines Central Elementary School Conducts 2nd Earthquake Drill

The schooll successfully conducted its 2nd Earthquake Drill as part of its disaster preparedness program, with a total of 310 pupils actively participating.
The activity was also attended by parents and various stakeholders who supported the school’s effort to strengthen awareness and readiness in case of earthquakes. A total of 23 teachers were present to supervise and guide the participants throughout the drill.
During the exercise, pupils practiced the proper “Drop, Cover, and Hold” procedure, followed by an orderly evacuation to designated safe areas. Teachers ensured that safety protocols were observed and that all learners understood the importance of responding calmly and efficiently during emergencies.
School officials highlighted the importance of continuous drills to improve coordination and preparedness among learners, staff, and the community. The participation of parents and stakeholders further emphasized the shared responsibility in promoting a safer school environment.
The successful conduct of the drill demonstrated the school’s commitment to disaster risk reduction and management, ensuring that both pupils and personnel are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills in times of emergencies.

PCES Teacher Jazzryl G. Polutan Named Top 15 CCFA Teacher Nationwide for SY 2025-2026

Our very own Grade 6 teacher Mr. Polutan has brought pride to Oroquieta City Division after being recognized as one of the Top 15 Certified Cha-Ching Financial Accreditation CCFA Teachers in the country for School Year 2025-2026.

Mr. Polutan received the Certificate of Recognition on June 18, 2026 from JA Philippines, Prudence Foundation, and Pru Life UK. The citation highlighted his “outstanding achievement” and “exemplary commitment to advancing financial literacy and empowering learners through quality education,” which made a significant contribution to the success and impact of the Cha-Ching Program.

In Region X, 4 teachers received the award. Two of the awardies came from the Division of Oroquieta City: SVAES Mr. Jeffrey Tumpong and PCES teacher Jazzryl G. Polutan.

Rose Maie S. Olaivar, Principal and the entire PCES community expressed pride in this achievement. The school also commended the Division of Oroquieta City for the smooth implementation of the program through Cha-Ching Focal Person Jocelyn Udal, under the direction of SDO Chief Francis J. Buac and SDS Lorena Serrano.

The Cha-Ching Program continues to equip learners with essential money management skills, and PCES remains committed to producing teachers who lead with excellence in financial literacy education.

PCES Nakiisa sa Pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kalayaan sa Oroquieta City

Aktibong nakiisa ang Pines Central Elementary School sa pagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kalayaan sa pamamagitan ng pagdalo sa flag raising ceremony na idinaos sa lungsod kasama ang iba’t ibang kawani ng gobyerno at pribadong sektor.

Umabot sa 23 kawani ng PCES ang dumalo sa seremonya bilang pagpapakita ng paggalang at pagpapahalaga sa kasaysayan at kalayaan ng bansa. Nakasabay ng mga g**o at staff ang mga lokal na opisyal, kawani ng pamahalaan, at kinatawan ng pribadong sektor sa sabayang pag-awit ng Pambansang Awit at pagtaas ng bandila.

Ayon sa pamunuan ng paaralan, ang paglahok sa ganitong pambansang pagdiriwang ay bahagi ng paghubog sa makabayan at makataong pag-uugali ng bawat g**o at empleyado ng PCES.

Naging makabuluhan at maayos ang daloy ng programa na nagbigay-diin sa tema ng taon para sa Araw ng Kalayaan.

PCES Holds School Orientation for SY 2026-2027, Discusses Revised K-10 3-Term Block

Pines Central Elementary School conducted its School Orientation on the opening of classes and the implementation of 3-Term classes under the Revised K-10 Curriculum, with around 200 parents in attendance.

Facilitated by School Principal Rose Maie S. Olaivar, the orientation aimed to clarify key updates for School Year 2026-2027, including class schedules, academic policies, and the shift to the 3-term blocks in the revised curriculum.

During the program, Olaivar also highlighted the importance of collaboration, dedication, and service as core values for Brigada Eskwela 2026. She expressed appreciation to parents, teachers, and stakeholders for making last year’s project possible, particularly the construction of the new school signage which now serves as the school’s landmark.

The orientation served as a venue for parents to raise concerns and receive direct guidance from school administration ahead of the class opening.

PCES OPENS SY 2026-2027 WITH WARM WELCOME, STRONG SECURITY

Pines Central Elementary School officially opened classes for School Year 2026-2027 today, June 8, 2026, led by School Principal Rose Maie Olaivar who personally welcomed all pupils and ensured they feel comfortable on their first day.

The opening program started with a flag ceremony participated by PNP personnel who led the Panunumpa sa Watawat. The PNP also secured the safety of every child within the school premises to give parents peace of mind.

Teachers were ready for the opening and shared tokens of appreciation to pupils present on Day 1. Barangay officials and parents also joined the flag ceremony to show support for the learners.

Principal Olaivar and the teaching staff are looking forward to increased attendance this afternoon and expect more enrollees to come in as classes continue.

With the community’s cooperation during Brigada Eskwela and today’s opening, PCES is set for a safe and productive school year.

PUROK 6, 7 WRAP UP BRIGADA ESKWELA WITH VICINITY CLEANING, FENCE CONSTRUCTION

Purok 6 and Purok 7 volunteers led the final day of Brigada Eskwela 2026 today at Pines Central Elementary School.

The assigned puroks focused on cleaning the school vicinity and continuing fence construction at the back of PCES. Their work completed the 5-day bayanihan activity that started June 2, 2026.

School officials extended appreciation to all volunteers from Day 1 to Day 5. They thanked Purok 5 Tanod and barangay officials, SK, BHW, 4Ps members, Purok 3, Purok 4, Purok 6, and Purok 7 for helping a lot in making PCES safe, clean, and ready for the opening of classes this Monday, June 9, 2026.

The City Government was also recognized for sending personnel to prune prone branches of trees inside the school premises during the conduct of Brigada Eskwela.

With the community’s support, the schools are now prepared to welcome learners for School Year 2026-2027.

PUROK 3, 4 LEAD GROUND BEAUTIFICATION, FENCE WORKS ON BRIGADA ESKWELA DAY 4

Purok 3 and Purok 4 residents took charge of ground cleaning, beautification, and continuation of fence construction on the fourth day of Brigada Eskwela 2026 at Pines Central Elementary School on June 4, 2026.

Volunteers from both puroks focused on clearing and landscaping the school grounds while continuing the repair and fixing of the school fence at the back of PCES. The combined tasks aimed to improve the cleanliness and safety of the learning environment.

School officials expressed happiness and gratitude for the service rendered by Purok 3 and Purok 4. They acknowledged the volunteers’ effort in maintaining the momentum of the 5-day bayanihan activity.

Brigada Eskwela 2026 will conclude tomorrow, June 5, 2026, as the Pines Community completes the final day of preparations for PCES ahead of the opening of classes for School Year 2026-2027.
