CRCY EVSU - Ormoc Campus Council

𝗘𝗩𝗦𝗨-𝗢𝗖 𝗖𝗥𝗖𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗨𝗚𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗢𝗙𝗙-𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗣𝗨𝗦 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗟𝗢𝗬𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

The Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc City College Red Cross Youth (EVSU-OC CRCY) officially marked a historic milestone as it conducted its first off-campus deployment from March 14 to 16, 2026.

Our volunteers served as the 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 for the 3×3 March Madness Basketball Tournament, held at the Brgy. Can-adieng Covered Court. In collaboration with Mind & Sole, our council members were on the ground to ensure the safety of the athletes, organizers, and spectators throughout the three-day event.

This mission signifies a major step in our commitment to extending humanitarian service beyond the university gates. We remain dedicated to our role as a vital community partner, ready to serve and protect whenever the need arises.

On February 1, 2026, the Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus College Red Cross Youth successfully conducted an enlightening 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘓𝘢𝘸 (𝘐𝘏𝘓) 𝘚𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳 at the Eastern Visayas State University - Ormoc City Campus. The activity gathered passionate volunteers committed to deepening their understanding of humanitarian principles and responsible service. The program aimed to strengthen awareness of IHL and reinforce the proper use and protection of the Red Cross emblem, especially in times of armed conflict and emergencies.

The event formally opened with inspiring remarks from Mr. Bernie Palacio, LPT, the EVSU-OC CRCY Coordinator. He emphasized the significance of understanding and applying International Humanitarian Law in our roles as youth volunteers, reminding everyone: "𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. 𝘐𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘶𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘥 𝘊𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘔𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦."

Following the engaging discussions and interactive learning sessions, the organization proceeded with the 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘍𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 to ensure transparency and accountability among its members. In addition, the 𝘊𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 for the upcoming month was presented, highlighting key events and initiatives to keep CRCY members informed, prepared, and actively involved.

Together, we continue to lead with integrity, transparency, and a heart for humanitarian service.

From September 30 to October 3, 2025, the College Red Cross Youth (CRCY) of Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus stood at the vibrant heart of the highly anticipated Intramurals 2025. Across four dynamic days of spirited games and campus-wide celebrations, 20 dedicated CRCY volunteers, working in seamless collaboration with 29 supportive Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) students, selflessly dedicated their time, energy, and compassion to safeguard the athletes and the entire university community.

Whether marching under the heat of the opening parade, navigating the roaring cheers across the courts and fields, or maintaining quiet vigilance during intense competitions, the joint medical and support team remained deeply steadfast. They diligently guarded the athletes, guided eager participants, monitored vital event areas, and stood perpetually ready to provide swift response and critical assistance in times of need.

Far beyond standard operational service, their strong presence radiated the enduring values of camaraderie, unity, and genuine volunteerism. Together, the College Red Cross Youth and the BPEd students proved that through every athletic challenge and joyous celebration, they truly embody the essence of the Red Cross spirit—remaining “𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺, 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦.”

On September 14, 2025, the Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus College Red Cross Youth (EVSU-OC CRCY) proudly celebrated the highly anticipated culmination of the Youth Volunteers' Formation Course 2025.

Through a transformative journey filled with dynamic workshops, rigorous teamwork, and invaluable hands-on experiences, ordinary students evolved into confident and compassionate Red Cross Youth members. As they navigated engaging team challenges, the participants discovered that true volunteerism goes far beyond acquiring practical skills; it is deeply rooted in unity, selfless service, and genuine heart. Every thoughtful discussion and collaborative activity reinforced the profound power of preparation and the undeniable impact of working together under one mission.

We extend our warmest congratulations to the newest YVFC graduates! May your unwavering passion to serve continue to inspire others wherever your humanitarian journey takes you. On September 11, 2025, the students of Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) boldly stepped into action to unlock critical lifesaving skills. Held at the EVSU-OC Covered Court from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, an intensive Hands-Only CPR Training was expertly facilitated by the Health Emergency Management Staff (HEMS).

The comprehensive session highlighted the absolute importance of acting immediately during cardiac emergencies. Moving seamlessly from active listening to practical application, participants performed proper chest compressions on training equipment, experiencing firsthand the physical demands and urgency of emergency response. This hands-on approach ensured that the students walked away not just with theoretical knowledge, but with the genuine confidence to intervene when it matters most.

By the end of the afternoon, the transformative power of the training was undeniable. It proved that through dedication and proper preparedness, ordinary students can evolve into capable, potential lifesavers ready to answer the call of duty.

On September 7, 2025, the Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus College Red Cross Youth (EVSU-CRCY) successfully launched Day 1 of the Youth Volunteers’ Formation Course. In a beautiful display of unity and shared purpose, this milestone event was held in synergistic collaboration with the SPC-CRCY, SPC-SRCY, and SPC-SPRCY Councils.

This initial gathering was far more than a standard orientation; it marked the beginning of a profound journey into the true essence of volunteerism. The energy throughout the venue was truly electric, radiating with real teamwork and bright smiles. As participants immersed themselves in dynamic workshops, meaningful discussions, and engaging team-building exercises, they discovered that the foundation of humanitarian work relies just as much on genuine bonds, shared laughter, and new friendships as it does on practical skills.

The EVSU-OC CRCY council extends its deepest gratitude to our partner councils, the highly dedicated facilitators, and our ever-supportive adviser. Thank you for seamlessly guiding our youth through this meaningful first step. We look forward to seeing how these young volunteers will continue to connect, learn, and grow together in one mission!

On August 29, 2025, the Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus College Red Cross Youth (CRCY) officially commenced the new academic year by convening its 1st General Assembly at the Education Building, Room 4. The morning gathering warmly welcomed both passionate new recruits and dedicated returning members under one shared mission.

The significant event was highlighted by the formal introduction of the new EVSU-OC CRCY Adviser, Dr. Joergen T. Arradaza Jr., who officially opened the program with an inspiring set of welcoming remarks. This was smoothly followed by the proud presentation of the newly elected officers who will spearhead the council's initiatives and advocate for student volunteerism.

To establish a strong foundation for our growing family of volunteers, the assembly also included a comprehensive reading of the CRCY Constitution and By-Laws, alongside a clear discussion of membership requirements. Finally, setting the direction for our humanitarian roadmap, Mr. Bernie Palacio led an exciting presentation outlining the upcoming activities and essential training opportunities for the academic year.

Stay tuned, mga ka-CRCY! We are gearing up for a meaningful year filled with dedicated service, proactive leadership, and impactful humanitarian action.

On August 22, 2025, the Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus College Red Cross Youth (CRCY) proudly marked a fresh beginning with a successful clean-up drive and the official relocation of the council.

As we bid farewell to our former space and relocated beside the Old Administration Building, our dedicated student-volunteers came together with remarkable synergy. With the core principle of *Voluntary Service* in action, the team diligently cleaned the new headquarters and its surroundings, meticulously organized official documents, and safely transferred crucial office equipment.

This initiative is more than just a change of scenery. It marks a smooth transition into a more functional, organized, and welcoming home for the council—a vital step forward in strengthening our capacity to serve the youth, our campus, and the broader community.

Thank you to our passionate volunteers who made this transition seamless. A new space means new opportunities to lead with action and serve with compassion!
