Unang Araw, Unang Yanig: Lindol Humagupit sa First Day ng Olandang NHS
OLANDANG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL — Niyanig ng lindol ang mga estudyante at g**o ng Olandang NHS kaninang umaga, June 8, 2026, bandang 7:37 AM habang isinasagawa ang flag ceremony sa covered court. Ang biglaang pagyanig ay nagdulot ng gulat, pero agad naisagawa ang evacuation sa open area ng paaralan.
Sa loob ng ilang segundo, umuga ang sahig ng covered court at gumalaw ang mga bubungan nito at ang mga puno sa paligid. Agad na tumigil ang programa at sumunod ang lahat sa itinurong emergency procedure. Pinalabas ng mga g**o ang buong Olandang NHS community mula sa covered court papunta sa field para sa kaligtasan ng mga g**onat mag aaral
Walang naitalang nasugatan o malaking pinsala sa loob ng Olandang NHS. Patuloy pa rin ang monitoring para sa posibleng aftershocks.
Mga Paalala sa Kaligtasan sa Loob ng Paaralan:
1. Drop, Cover, Hold – Yumuko, magtago sa ilalim ng matibay na lamesa/bangko, takpan ang ulo at leeg.
2. Lumayo sa bintana at ilaw – Para iwas sa nabasag na salamin at mabibigat na gamit.
3. Wag magsiksikan sa exit – Dahan-dahan at sunod sa linya palabas ng covered court/classroom.
4. Punta sa assembly area – Manatili sa open field at layo sa gusali, poste, at puno.
5. Makinig sa g**o – Sila ang maggi-guide kung ligtas na bumalik sa classroom.
Sa kabila ng gulat, naging paalala ito sa buong Olandang NHS: Ang paghahanda ang susi sa kaligtasan. Kahit first day pa lang, dapat laging alerto.

NSPC 2026 Kicks Off in Ormoc City
National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) 2026 has officially opened today in Ormoc City, and will run from April 13 to 17, with 17 regions from across the Philippines participating in the event. The opening program was led by keynote speaker Alfonso Tomas “Atom” A. Araullo.
Carrying this year’s theme, “Mapanuri, Mapanindigan, at Mapanagutang Mamayahayag,” the event highlights the vital role of young communicators in shaping informed and responsible communities.
The Special Geographic Area (SGA) Division proudly sends Roseleah K. Abdullah from Olandang NHS, who will carry the banner of the BARMM region in this prestigious national competition. Despite being the only participant from SGA, Roseleah stands strong, embodying determination, talent, and the spirit of resilient journalism.
She is guided by her dedicated coach, Corrine M. Mascud, whose mentorship and commitment have been instrumental in preparing her for the challenges of the national stage.
Joining them in support are Education Program Supervisors Musanip A. Adzal and Rayhana Pendi-Ali, along with Division MAPEH Coordinator Rhoeda E. Madato, who collectively express their full backing for the BARMM region. Their presence underscores the region’s commitment to nurturing young talents and promoting journalistic excellence.
With determination in her heart and the support of her mentors and leaders, Roseleah K. Abdullah steps into NSPC 2026 not just as a competitor, but as a symbol of hope and pride for both the SGA Division and the BARMM region.
