With a shared goal of protecting the environment, the 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐘𝐄𝐒-𝐎) 💚, together with the 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐒𝐒𝐋𝐆)🦅, the 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 🔬, and the organization advisers of 𝙉𝙚𝙬 𝙊𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙘 𝘾𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 (𝙉𝙊𝘾𝙉𝙃𝙎) 🏫 came together for a 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 🌳 held at the 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘌𝘤𝘰 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘕𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘖𝘳𝘮𝘰𝘤 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 7, 2026.

With muddy shoes 👣, helping hands 🤲, and hearts full of purpose 🫀, students turned their 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣❤️‍🔥 for protecting the environment into 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣🔥. The activity was not only about planting new mangrove seedlings, but also revisiting the mangroves planted before, checking their growth and making sure they 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚞𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚒𝚟𝚎 💪🏼.

As the students worked along the mangrove area , they were reminded of why these trees matter so much. Mangroves help 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙨 🌊, 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙨𝙤𝙞𝙡 𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 ⚠️, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙨🐟🦀. Planting each seedling wasn’t just part of the activity, it was a small but meaningful way of helping care for the environment 🍃and protect it for the future .

Each mangrove 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 🌱brings us one step closer to a 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 🌳.

𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 🫂

On March 06, 2026, the YES-O (Youth for Environment in Schools Organization), together with the SSLG (Supreme Secondary Learner Government) and the Grade 10 students of New Ormoc City National High School (NOCNHS), conducted an 𝐄𝐜𝐨-𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 activity.🚶🏻🧹🗑️

The purpose of this activity was to 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 🌍✨ and encourage students to take care of their surroundings 🌱. During the Eco-Walk, the students 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞. ♻️

This activity helped students become more aware of the importance of 𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 and practicing proper waste management. It also strengthened cooperation and teamwork 🤝🏻 among the participants. 🌿

Through this Eco-warriors walk Activity 🌱🚶‍♂️, the students showed their commitment to helping create a 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒓🧹, 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓 🌳, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚. 🌱♻️

On March 4, 2026, the 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 of the 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇 𝗕𝗼𝘄𝗹 were proudly awarded 𝚝𝚘𝚔𝚎𝚗𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚐𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 🎖, generously sponsored by 𝙈𝙖'𝙖𝙢 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙝 𝙋𝙖𝙮𝙪𝙙, the LGU and Stakeholder Engagement Specialist EU-PH GEP, UNDP, in honor of their 𝓴𝓷𝓸𝔀𝓵𝓮𝓭𝓰𝓮 🧠 and 𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓶𝓲𝓽𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓽 🤝 to ᴇɴᴠɪʀᴏɴᴍᴇɴᴛᴀʟ sᴜsᴛᴀɪɴᴀʙɪʟɪᴛʏ. 💚♻️

Before the awarding proper began, our beloved Science Coordinator, 𝙈𝙖'𝙖𝙢 𝙂𝙖𝙮 𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙨, shared an 𝕚𝕟𝕤𝕡𝕚𝕣𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕞𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕒𝕘𝕖 with our eco-champions. She reminded everyone that, “𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘶𝘯𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘵, 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘢.” In other words, 𝚔𝚗𝚘𝚠𝚕𝚎𝚍𝚐𝚎 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚕𝚍 𝚋𝚎 𝚜𝚑𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚍—especially knowledge on how we can 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 and 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 our environment, not contribute to its destruction. 🌱

- Create an atmosphere of sharing and loving around our community.

Another 𝗕𝗜𝗗𝗔 𝗗𝗮𝘆 was successfully completed ✨ as our Grade 7 and 8 students brought in their recyclable materials ♻️ and exchanged them for points they can redeem for simple yet useful rewards 🏆. This activity is worth more than just earning points—it reminds us that improving our environment starts with the everyday choices we make. 🪴

To make our circular economy practices engaging and meaningful, BIDA Day helps build consistency and motivation among students 👥 to practice 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵. Every recyclable material collected shows effort, responsibility, and a shared commitment to keeping our school clean and green.💚🌍

NOCNHS students proved that even the ˢᵐᵃˡˡᵉˢᵗ actions can create the 𝐁𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐒𝐓 impact 💪 through our 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝑪𝒂𝒔𝒉 💸 initiative for BIDA-CE. What others 𝑺𝑬𝑬 👀 as waste, we 𝑺𝑬𝑬 👀 as opportunity ✅💚✨.

Instead of throwing things away ❌, collected recyclable 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 📃 were turned over to the partner organization of Eclipse Inc. 🌑, Mas Green Eco Waste Pickers (MEPA), in exchange for cash incentives 💵—promoting environmental responsibility ✊, proper waste management 🚮, and circular economy ♻️ practices among the youth. 👥

By transforming 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒉 into 𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒉, NOCNHS students demonstrated that simple efforts 💚 can lead to 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 ✨—proving that even discarded items 🗑️ can create a lasting impact and help build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. ♻️💚

Tomorrow marks the 1st School-Based Circular Economy Quiz Bowl at NOCNHS! 🏆 This event will bring together our brilliant 😎✨ Grade 7 to Grade 10 contestants as they showcase their knowledge 🧠, critical thinking 🤔, and passion 🤝 for sustainability.

The 1st School-Based Circular Economy Quiz Bowl will take place at the RTR Conference Hall at the following schedules:
• The Grade 7 contestants will compete from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
• The Grade 8 contestants will compete from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN.
• The Grade 9 contestants will compete from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
• The Grade 10 contestants will compete from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The Grade 10 Steadfast class, together with their adviser, Ramona Burla-Feuntes, is commended for their commendable initiative and collective effort. Despite having a broken and non-functional HDMI, the class successfully earned points through the systematic collection of recyclables from the school campus and their respective homes, enabling them to redeem a new HDMI cable, an essential resource that supports the effective daily delivery of lessons.
