Matica-a National High School conducted a Career Orientation for Grade 10 and Grade 12 students in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) – Ormoc City, led by PESO Manager Atty. Nolito M. Quilang, DPA, CESE.

🌱 Successful Orientation, Demonstration, Inspection, and Acceptance of the Small-Scale Composting Facility (SSCF)! 🌱

Matica-a National High School proudly celebrates the successful Orientation, Demonstration, Inspection, and Acceptance of our Small-Scale Composting Facility (SSCF) under the Rural Farm School Program.

The orientation and hands-on demonstration equipped our teachers and personnel with the knowledge and practical skills needed for the proper operation and maintenance of the SSCF. The successful inspection and acceptance likewise affirmed that the facility is fully prepared to support sustainable agriculture, effective waste management, and meaningful experiential learning for our learners.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM) for their invaluable support, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to advancing sustainable farming practices in our schools.

Our sincere appreciation is also extended to the Department of Education – Schools Division of Ormoc City, led by our Schools Division Superintendent, Carmelino Paculan Bernadas Dr. Carmelino P. Berndas, CESO V, our Education Program Supervisor in TLE, Ma'am Imee Aidoma Imelda Amodia, and our dedicated Public Schools District Supervisor, Ma'am Elena Angelita Sios-e, for their steadfast guidance and support. We also thank the inspection and acceptance team, our school officials, teachers, and everyone whose dedication and collaboration made this milestone possible.

As we move forward, the SSCF will serve as a valuable learning facility that empowers our learners with practical agricultural skills while fostering environmental stewardship, responsible waste management, and a culture of sustainability.

SCHOOL ADVISORY ON THE PROHIBITION OF DEADLY WEAPONS

To: All Students, Parents/Guardians, Teaching and Non-Teaching Personnel

In our commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and conducive learning environment, all students, parents, and school personnel are hereby reminded that the possession, carrying, or bringing of deadly weapons and other dangerous objects within the school premises and during any school-related activity is strictly prohibited.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:
• Fi****ms and replica fi****ms
• Knives, daggers, and other bladed instruments
• Explosive or incendiary devices
• Metal knuckles and similar dangerous objects
• Any item that may be used to threaten, intimidate, injure, or harm others

Any student or individual found in possession of prohibited items shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with school policies and existing laws. Parents or guardians will be notified immediately, and law enforcement authorities may be involved when necessary.

Students are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or the presence of dangerous objects to their teachers, advisers, guidance counselor, or school administrators.

We also request the support of parents and guardians in reminding their children about school safety rules and in checking their belongings before they leave for school.

Let us all work together in maintaining a peaceful, respectful, and safe learning environment for everyone.

📢 Matica-a National High School joins the observance of the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) today, June 18, 2026.

This activity aims to strengthen earthquake preparedness and promote a culture of safety among learners, teachers, and school personnel. Through regular drills and proper awareness, we equip ourselves with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively during emergencies.

Matica-a National High School successfully conducted its First General SPTA Meeting, Parents' Orientation, and SPTA Election, bringing together parents and teachers in a spirit of collaboration and shared responsibility for the success of our learners.

The activity served as an avenue to orient parents on important school policies, programs, and initiatives, while also strengthening the partnership between the school and the community.
