On May 8, 2026, St. Peterโs College of Ormoc held its NSTP-CWTS Graduation Ceremony for Batch 2025โ2026 at the AVR College, celebrating the successful completion of the National Service Training Program of freshmen students from the College of Accountancy, College of Business Administration, and College of Teacher Education departments.
Carrying the theme, โServe. Lead. Inspire.โ, the ceremony highlighted the studentsโ commitment to service, leadership, and community involvement throughout their NSTP journey. The program formally commenced with the welcome message by NSTP-CTE 1 President, followed by the presentation of graduates by NSTP Coordinator Mr. Carlito C. Niegos and was confirmed by the SPC President Rev. Msgr. Erlito Maraya, followed by giving of special awards and the certificate of completion to the graduating NSTP-CWTS students.
An inspirational message was delivered by the School President, Rev. Msgr. Erlito Maraya, PhD, encouraging the graduates to continue embodying the values of leadership, compassion, and civic responsibility beyond the classroom. Special awards were also presented to the officers and selected students that were active outreach volunteers in recognition of their dedication and exemplary participation in various NSTP activities and community service programs.
The ceremony also featured a special message from Outreach Coordinator Ms. Josephine Fernandez Paredes, who emphasized the importance of service and active involvement in building stronger communities. Adding a meaningful conclusion to the celebration, the whole NSTP class presented a graduation song before formally closed the program.
More than a recognition of program completion, the NSTP-CWTS Graduation Ceremony served as a celebration of growth, unity, and the studentsโ readiness to become socially responsible individuals committed to serving others and inspiring positive change.

โFaith in every Beads: BSBA-1 students bring Rosary Devotion to Brgy. Linao.โ
A literacy-prayer was held at Brgy by the National Service Training Program-Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) BSBA-1 students of St. Peter's College of Ormoc (SPCO). Linao on April 18, 2026, as part of their outreach initiative. By teaching the kids the fundamentals of prayer and how to recite the Holy Rosary, the program seeks to provide them the chance to grow in their faith.
Carrying the theme โStrong Faith, Strong Life,โ the program centered on teaching young participants the meaning of the Holy Rosary and the importance of prayer in everyday life. The students guided the children in understanding the prayers of the Rosary and explained the different mysteries in a way that was simple, relatable, and easy for them to remember.
To make the session more interactive, the children participated in a Mystery Guessing Game, where they identified the Mysteries, they had learned during the discussion. Another meaningful part of the outreach was the Prayer Intentions Activity, where each child wrote a personal prayer intention on a paper and placed it inside a prayer box, symbolizing trust and surrender to God.
Creativity also became part of the learning experience through a Rosary Poster-Making Activity, where the participants expressed their understanding of the Rosary through art. The children were also given the chance to create their own personalized rosary bracelets, allowing them to bring home a simple yet meaningful reminder of the faith lesson they shared during the program.
The outreach became more than a simple teaching session, it became a shared experience of prayer, learning, and community. For the student volunteers, it was a reminder that small acts service can leave a lasting impact, especially when faith is shared with younger hearts.

On April 11, 2026, National Service Training Program (NSTP-CWTS) students from St. Peterโs College of Ormoc (SPC-O), particularly from BSA-1 Group 3, conducted a faith-based outreach program in Barangay Punta, Ormoc City, focusing on the spiritual formation of children at an early age.
The activity introduced the life and teachings of Jesus Christ through storytelling, songs, and interactive games designed to teach core Christian values such as love, kindness, obedience, and faith. The program aimed to make early spiritual learning engaging and accessible for young learners.
Student volunteers used various interactive learning methods to maintain participation and ensure understanding, creating a lively and welcoming learning environment. The program was carried out with the support of Barangay Punta officials, parents of the children, and NSTP coordinators - Mr. Carlito C. Niegos, whose cooperation contributed to its smooth implementation.
The outreach left a meaningful impact on both the children-participants and the volunteer NSTP students, strengthening the studentsโ commitment to service while highlighting the importance of nurturing faith and values at an early age.

On April 9, 2026, NSTP students of St. Peterโs College of Ormoc (SPC-O) from BSA-1 Groups 1 and 2 conducted a Literacy Development Outreach Program in Barangay Alta Vista, Ormoc City, aimed at supporting the learning development of elementary students in the community.
The activity focused on engaging young learners through interactive teaching sessions and educational games designed to enhance their reading, comprehension, and overall literacy skills. Through these activities, students were encouraged to actively participate and enjoy learning in a fun and meaningful way.
The outreach program was made possible through the support and cooperation of Alta Vista barangay officials, with the SK Chairman Raymond Lopez and Barangay Captain Dinah G. Larino, as well as the generous sponsorship of the Mantua Family, Althea Estrera, and Mr. Carlito Niegos the SPC-NSTP Coordinator.
Beyond the learning activities, the initiative created a positive and lasting impact on both the beneficiaries and the NSTP students. It fostered a sense of community involvement, strengthened the value of volunteerism, and emphasized the importance of extending educational support to young learners in the community.

On February 28, 2026, students of St. Peterโs College of Ormocโs National Service Training Program โ Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS), spearheaded by Mr. Carlito C. Niegos - SPCO-NSTP Coordinator, Ms. Josephine Parades โ the Outreach Coordinator in collaboration with SPC College Alumni represented by Claudeth Tan and Karen Salgado - from Batch 2001, conducted a coastal clean-up drive along the Ormoc City Plaza Bay seawall.
The initiative aimed to further strengthen environmental awareness and encourage sustained community participation in protecting Ormocโs coastal resources. During the activity, participants observed the continuing effects of improper waste disposal, particularly plastic materials and other debris that threaten marine life and the bayโs ecosystem.
All collected waste was systematically segregated and disposed of in accordance with proper waste management practices, highlighting the importance of responsible environmental action and collective accountability.
Beyond its environmental purpose, the clean-up drives fostered unity, discipline, and civic engagement among students and alumni alike. The visibly improved condition of the seawall and surrounding bay area reflected the participants shared commitment to environmental stewardship and service to the community.

On Monday, December 15, 2025, St. Peterโs College of Ormoc, Inc., through the College Department, partnered with the City Health Department โ Health Emergency Management Services (CHO-HEMS) to conduct a Capacity Building on Hands-Only Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for college students. The activity was held at the schoolโs Audio-Visual Room (AVR) and aimed to equip students with life-saving skills essential during cardiac emergencies.
The training emphasized the importance of immediate response during sudden cardiac arrest. Through a concise yet impactful hands-only CPR demonstration and practice, participants learned how timely and proper intervention can significantly increase a victimโs chance of survival. The session highlighted that even a few minutes of correct action can make a life-saving difference.
NSTP-CWTS students actively supported the activity by providing manpower and assisting in the smooth flow of the program, reflecting their commitment to community service and preparedness. The initiative not only strengthened studentsโ emergency response skills but also fostered confidence, responsibility, and awareness of their role in safeguarding lives.
This meaningful collaboration underscores the value of health education in schools, preparing students not only academically, but also as capable individuals ready to respond when lives are at stake.

On Wednesday, December 3, 2025, The St. Peterโs College of Ormoc, Inc. (SPCO) โ National Service Training Program โ Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) students once again embodied its mission of compassion through the annual Share A Joy program. Spearheaded by the Outreach Program Office, with Coordinator Ms. Josephine Paredes, this initiative aimed to prepare relief goods for the typhoon-affected communities in Cebu, extending warmth and care to families in need.
Held at the SPC Gym, NSTP-CWTS students supported the activity by providing full manpowerโsorting, arranging, and packing essential goods such as sanitary pads, rice, canned goods, laundry detergents, noodles, and biscuits, etc., Each pack represented more than basic necessities; it carried a message of solidarity, reminding others that in times of hardship, the community of SPC stands ready to serve.
The atmosphere was filled with teamwork, dedication, and genuine concern. Students worked hand in hand, proving that even simple acts of service can spark hope and uplift those facing difficult times. Through Share A Joy, the spirit of bayanihan lives on, showing that kindness knows no distance. Always remember: Serving others is not just an actโit's a calling to make a difference wherever help is needed.

Ormoc City, Leyte. The National Service Training Program โ Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) students of St. Peter's College of Ormoc, Inc. (SPCO) conducted a coastline cleanup drive on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Ormoc Bay shorelines near the Hotel Don Felipe and Veterans Park.
The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage responsible action toward keeping Ormocโs coastal areas clean and protected. Students witnessed firsthand the growing issue of pollution, especially in coastal zones affected by improper disposal of waste. This hands-on initiative highlighted the urgent need for proper waste management and community involvement in environmental conservation.
Following its general mission of the National Service Training Program to develop students' civic consciousness, patriotism, and skills for community service readiness. The NSTP students were from the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA-1), Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA-1), and College of Teacher Education (BSEd-1, BEED-1), the activity was led by Mr. Carlito C. Niegos, the NSTP Coordinator, and Ms. Josephine Paredes, the SPC Outreach Program Coordinator. The students gathered multiple sacks of trash, including plastics, bottles, and other debris, in just a few of hours.
SPCO is a socially conscious institution that actively addresses community issues by fostering a sense of environmental responsibility. This is an example of how Christian principles are instilled and incorporated into the educational system as stewards of God's creation.

On August 9, 2025, Mr. Carlito C. Niegos, MM, NSTP Coordinator at St. Peter's College of Ormoc, Inc. (SPC), attended the first-ever Regional NSTP Educators and Implementors' Congress in Tacloban City. The event, held at the EVSU Graduate School Function Hall, focused on the theme "NSTP in Action: Forging Collaborative Pathways for Nation Building."
The congress, organized by Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) in partnership with the CHED Regional Office VIII and REX Education, brought together NSTP coordinators from various higher education institutions (HEIs) across Region VIII, including Samar, Biliran, Southern Leyte, and Leyte Island. The primary goal of the assembly was to evaluate the effectiveness and direction of the NSTP program and to reinforce the core principles of civic consciousness, national service, and volunteerism among Filipino youth.
The program began with registration at 7:00 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony. Dr. Benedicto Militante, Jr., the newly appointed EVSU Vice-President for Academic Affairs, delivered the welcome address on behalf of EVSU President Dr. Dennis De Paz. Mrs. Norina T. Espocia, EPS II, the new NSTP Regional Coordinator, presented a message from CHED Regional Director Dr. Maximo Aljibe Jr., CESO III. Dr. Marlon E. Lora, EVSU-Tac NSTP Director, gave an overview of the congress and presented the attendees.
The congress featured several distinguished speakers, including Ms. Claire Pantoja, PNVSCA Policy Convenor, who spoke about volunteerism and the NSTP. Prof. Raphael M. Ferrer, author of the NSTP REX books, spoke on "Kaakibat ng Kapwa at Kumunidad: NSTP as a Pathway to Empathy, Service, and National Building." A representative from the Office of Civil Defense Region VIII and the NICA Assistant Regional CoordinatorโEngr. Lusiano Francisco discussed the National Service Reserve Corps.
The event, hosted by Mr. Rex B. Palompon, concluded with the awarding of certificates to the speakers and participants, with Dr. Marlon E. Lora delivering the closing remarks. The regional organizers and facilitators include Dr. Jose Ismael Salamia, Interim Secretary of NSTP Region VIII, and Dr. Ronald Madera, LIFE Director of EVSU and NSTP-CWTS Coordinator. The congress was a landmark event, bringing together educators and implementors to strengthen the NSTP program's mission of nation-building.
