The St. Peter’s College of Ormoc, Inc. (SPC-O) family joins the entire academic community in mourning the tragic shooting incident at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School (AdZU JHS) campus in Savana, Tumaga, Zamboanga City.

We extend our deepest condolences, prayers, and heartfelt sympathy to the families, loved ones, students, faculty, and the entire AdZU community affected by this heartbreaking event. In this difficult time, we stand with you in grief, offering our solidarity and fervent prayers for comfort, healing, and peace.

As part of our sacred duty to protect our academic sanctuary, SPC-O remains steadfast in its commitment to providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for our learners and educators.

Kindly be informed of the following office schedule for this week:

August 20 (Thursday) – Office transactions will only be entertained until 12:00 NN.
August 21 (Friday) – Ninoy Aquino Day, observed as a Special Non-Working Day.
August 31 (Monday) – National Heroes Day, observed as a Regular Holiday.

We advise everyone to take note of these dates and to schedule transactions accordingly to avoid inconvenience. Regular office operations will resume on the next working day.

This early closing is in consideration of the scheduled meeting of all Non-Teaching Personnel (NTP) in coordination with the Human Resources (HR) Office.

Today, August 11, we honor Saint Clare of Assisi, whose life was marked by steadfast faith, humility, simplicity, and wholehearted love for God.

As we celebrate her feast, may her life and example remind us to remain faithful in our calling, generous in service, and steadfast in our commitment to others.

On this special day, we also extend our warmest greetings to Sr. Clare V. Hermoso, FHL, who bears the name of this beloved saint. May the life and virtues of Saint Clare continue to be a source of inspiration and strength as she continues her journey of faith and service.

St. Peter’s College of Ormoc, Inc. joins Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Region 8 in the Simultaneous Kick-off Ceremony for the opening of ASEAN Month 2026, organized by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VIII.

Held earlier today, 10 August 2026, at the HED–AVR, the activity brought together participating HEIs in a unified celebration anchored on this year’s theme, “Setting Sail for ASEAN 2026: Navigating Our Future, Together.”

The ceremony highlights the spirit of ASEAN solidarity, regional cooperation, and a shared commitment toward a stronger and more connected future.
