Ormoc City Honors 11 Barangays at Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) Awarding Ceremony
Zero Open Defecation Awarding Ceremony gives recognition to 11 amongst 50 ZOD certified barangays at Carlosta Hotel, Ormoc City this December 12, 2025. ZOD is a public health and sanitation program that aims to eliminate the practice of open defecation that is developed by DOH, a program implemented in the city. Certificate of Recognition are given to the following barangays; Brgy. Boroc, Brgy. Gaas, Brgy. Libertad, Brgy. Luna, Brgy. Mabini, Brgy. Monterico, Brgy. North, Brgy. Patag, Brgy. Punta, Brgy. San Antonio, and Brgy. West for attaining ZOD standards. Certificate of appreciation are given to Ms. Emilyn R. Icalina, Head in Sanitation Department, Dr. Sarah Q. Hermoso, and Hon. Eusebio Gerardo S. Penserga for representing as
ZOD evaluators. Ending the program by Ms. Emilyn R. Icalina with an inspirational call to action, unity, and cleanliness for a better and sustainable Ormoc City.
