Galloping Toward Grandeur: SPFL Illuminate Chinatown East Gate

The spirit of the New Year galloped into our hearts on February 17, 2026, at the Chinatown East Gate! 🐎🏮 From the rhythmic snap of fans 🎐 to the graceful glide of umbrellas ☂️ and the elegant sway of lanterns 🏮✨, our school community came together in a breathtaking display of culture, talent, and unity. 💃🕺

The festivities began with an inspiring welcome from Ms. Jeceryl P. Ceniza 👩‍🏫, opening a program that showcased the dedication of our Special Program in Foreign Language (SPFL) students 🌏📚.
The afternoon was a vibrant showcase of our learning journey, starting with the expressive dance gestures of our Grade 7 students 💃 and the fluid, graceful flow of the Grade 8 fan dance 🪭🌊.

A true highlight of the day was witnessing our Regional Festival of Talents Champion, Ashley Migalang 🏆, stun the crowd as Wu Zetian 👑, bringing the power of history to life with a performance that was nothing short of regal. 👸 The elegance continued as Grade 9 painted a poetic scene with their Umbrella and Lantern Dances ☂️🏮, while Grade 10 delivered a sophisticated Fan Dance that bloomed into a spectacular, breathtaking flower 🌸.

The atmosphere reached a joyous peak with the melodic voices of F4 🎶, followed by a soulful rendition of "Ting wǒ shuō xièxiè nǐ" by our Grade 7 students ❤️—a moment of sincere gratitude expressed beautifully through the language we’ve come to love.

Everything culminated in a powerful Unity Dance 💃🤝🕺, bringing Grades 7, 8, 9, and 10 together in a final, massive celebration of our shared passion 🎉. For our Grade 10 students 🎓, this was an especially emotional finale. As they performed their last Chinese New Year dance together 💫, the tears shared on stage 🥹 were a beautiful, bittersweet testament to the years of friendship and the lifelong bonds they’ve built through the program.

As we charge into the Year of the Horse 🐎, let us carry the strength and nobility of this celebration in every stride we take. May your year be filled with prosperity 💰, courage 💪, and the speed ⚡ to reach your dreams 🌟. 恭喜发财! 🧧 新年快乐! 🏮

The ABS-CBN building was transformed into a vibrant sea of red and gold as we celebrated Chinese New Year 2026! The festivities began on a meaningful note with a solemn prayer led by Khyla Jane Amigable, followed by an inspiring welcome message from Ms. Jeceryl P. Ceniza that set the perfect tone for the day. From there, the energy shifted to the "dragon-themed" excitement of the program proper, featuring an incredible lineup of performances from Grade 7 to Grade 10, including special performances of unity that definitely stole the show!

The celebration didn't stop at the presentations, as the students came alive during the booths time prepared for everyone. Students immersed themselves in the festive activities like calligraphy, lantern and hongbao making, film showing, mask painting and the fun games that were prepared. Presenting cultural booths with a mix of traditional vibes and modern fun. It was a day filled with laughter, talent, and shared meals, making this Year of the Horse celebration a truly memorable one for the school community. 🐎🐉
