In a time when natural catastrophes are becoming a frequent reality, especially for developing countries like the Philippines, the role of the Filipino youth has never been more vital. We are challenged not only to care, but to act with purpose, discipline and a deep sense of stewardship over our natural heritage.

Together, let us rise as proactive stewards of the Earth empowered, informed, and united in safeguarding our environment. Let us lead with responsibility and take meaningful, collective action toward a greener, more climate-resilient future.

In the 𝗦𝗶𝗸𝗵𝗮𝘆-𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗵𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆, STEM 12 – 𝑺𝒕. Ngayong International Women’s Month, ipinagdiriwang natin ang lakas, tapang, at ambag ng bawat babae sa paghubog ng mas makatarungan at mas maunlad na lipunan. Mula sa tahanan hanggang sa komunidad, mula sa mga tahimik na sakripisyo hanggang sa matapang na paninindigan—ang kababaihan ay patuloy na nagiging puwersa ng pagbabago.

Kapag ang kababaihan ay binibigyan ng boses, oportunidad, at pagkilala, ang buong bayan ang umaangat.

From groundbreaking discussions to thought-provoking research presentations, our young scientists demonstrated not only mastery of biological concepts but also the confidence and professionalism of future researchers and innovators.

BIO-EXPO Classroom-Based Series Seminar | Series 3

The STEM Senior High School students of St. Thomas Aquinas will be conducting the third installment of their BIO-EXPO Series entitled:

“How Can We Use Genetic Engineering to Get Rid of Malaria for Good?”

This thought-provoking session will explore how advances in genetic engineering—such as gene editing and gene drive technology—can help control mosquito populations and reduce the spread of malaria.

Through research-based presentations and critical discussions, our young scientists examined:
1. The science behind genetic modification
2. How gene drives may help stop disease transmission
3. Ethical considerations and biosafety concerns
4. The global impact of eliminating malaria

By connecting biotechnology with global health challenges, our STEM students continue to demonstrate that science education is a powerful tool for saving lives and shaping a healthier future.

With heart heartfelt appreciation to the 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆 10 𝙎𝙩 𝑫𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙚𝙣 𝑫𝙚 𝑽𝙚𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧, participants for their enthusiasm and active engagement in the seminar entitled “𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒆 𝑼𝒔𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒂 𝒕𝒐 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒘𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑹𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒕 𝑭𝒖𝒆𝒍’’.”

Our 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆 10 from 𝙎𝙩 𝑫𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙚𝙣 𝑫𝙚 𝑽𝙚𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧, our eco warriors joined the eye opening seminar about biofuel and how it can help save our planet. Through 𝘿𝙉𝘼 𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙨 and 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, scientists were able to develop 𝙋𝙊𝙋 𝙗𝙞𝙤𝙛𝙪𝙚𝙡 — a renewable alternative that may even contain more energy than current fossil fuels. The students learned how plants and even bacteria can turn into energy to discovering cleaner ways to protect the environment.The future is bright— and it runs on biofuel. 🚀🧬🦠
