The Olongapo City Tourism Office and representatives from Gordon College – College of Hospitality and Tourism Management held a coordination meeting led by City Tourism Officer Fifi Tobias Gavino-Legaspi, Dr. Mark Alvin Lazaro, CHTM Dean, Mr. John Vincent De La Cruz, MSHTM, CHP, CHTM Assistant Dean, and Ms. Lizette Ann Sia, MSTM, CTP, Program Chair, to discuss the development of the proposed Olongapo Pasalubong Corner.

The initiative aims to establish a dedicated space where visitors and tourists can purchase locally made products that showcase the culture, creativity, and identity of Olongapo City, while supporting local entrepreneurs and community-based enterprises.

Through collaboration between the city government and the academic community, the project seeks to strengthen tourism engagement, promote local craftsmanship, and create meaningful opportunities for students and local producers.

The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management proudly launches the 2nd Project iWAVES (Inclusivity Workforce Advancement Via Education and Skills), continuing its commitment to build a more inclusive hospitality and tourism industry.

This initiative focuses on Bread and Pastry Training, equipping participants with practical skills that open doors to meaningful employment and livelihood opportunities. The training will be led by Mr. Vince Richard Gomez, MIHM, CMMS, who will share his expertise and industry knowledge to guide trainees.

This meaningful initiative is made possible through the collaboration of the Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), the City Budget Office, and TESDA, strengthening a shared mission to empower persons with disabilities through education, skills development, and inclusive opportunities.
