My college journey was not always easy. As a BSBA – Financial Management student at Gordon College, I experienced a lot of challenges, especially when it came to our finances. There were times when I worried about how I would pay for my school requirements, transportation, projects, and other expenses. There were also moments when I felt tired and wondered if I would really be able to finish my studies.
Receiving the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) was a huge help to me and my family. The financial assistance may seem simple to others, but for me, it meant so much. It helped me with my school expenses and lessened some of the financial pressure I was carrying. Because of TES, I was able to continue my studies with a little less worry and focus more on completing my degree.

TES became one of the reasons I was able to keep moving forward. It was not just financial support for me, it was also a reminder that there were people and programs willing to help students like me achieve our dreams.
After all the late nights, requirements, exams, projects, sacrifices, and moments when I wanted to give up, I finally reached the moment I had been waiting for.
I graduated in 2026 with a degree in BSBA – Financial Management.

To the students who are currently struggling, I just want to say: please don't give up. I know how difficult it can be when you are worried about money while trying to finish your studies. There may be times when you feel like giving up, but keep going. Take it one day at a time and believe that your hard work will eventually pay off.
Today, I can finally look back and say:
“𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘁.”
And I will always be grateful that TES became part of the journey that brought me here.
