ASCEND OFFICERS' DEDICATION SHINES @ FRIENDSTIVAL 2024

ASCEND Leaders Deliver a Successful Event Filled with Sportsmanship and Talent

The hard work and dedication of the officers of the Arts & Sciences and Education Network and Development (ASCEND), led by their president, Althea S. Pamintuan, were on full display at the CASEd Friendstival 2024, an event that brought together students from the College of Arts and Sciences and Education (CASEd) of Columban College for a day of unity, sportsmanship, and talent.

Thanks to ASCEND’s thorough planning and coordination, the event held on Wednesday, September 16, at the CCB Gymnasium ran seamlessly, ensuring that each activity not only entertained but also fostered camaraderie among students.

From the opening Zumba session to the series of sports competitions, ASCEND officers worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organize an engaging and memorable experience for participants.

The day featured a mix of physical activities, including basketball, volleyball, and fun games, all designed to promote teamwork.

The CASEd faculty, led by Dr. Christine Gil O. Almazan, were also present to support the students and witness the culmination of ASCEND's efforts.

A highlight of the event was the Mr. and Miss CASEd 2024 pageant, where Mr. APSACC was crowned Mr. CASEd and Miss SORC took home the title of Miss CASEd.

This, along with the CASEdians Got Talent and CASEd Awitan contests, showcased the creativity and talents of CASEd students.

Behind the scenes, ASCEND officers meticulously planned each segment of the program, ensuring that transitions were smooth and participants had all they needed to perform their best.

Notably, ASCEND officers also worked closely with student organizations, namely IMPACT, RESOC, APSACC, HSACC, SORC, JSWAP, TAWIFAPI, AKKAP, PENCIL, LLAS, ASPIRE, PRISM, and PEAKS, which led the coordination of sports activities and ensured that students from all programs could participate.

Their collaboration made this year’s Friendstival a true celebration of the CASEd spirit.

Recognition went to Team Green Pahiyas, which won Best Chant, and Team Yellow Sinulog, which triumphed in the Amazing Race.

Individual talents shone brightly in the CASEd Awitan competition, with Dayanarra Belagan (PENCIL) taking 1st place, Carlos John Dayap (TAWIKAPRISM) earning 2nd place, and Elyz Tiglao (APSACC) finishing in 3rd place.

At the heart of the event’s success was the commitment and dedication of the ASCEND officers—the "ASCEND Ants"—whose leadership was instrumental in organizing a memorable day for the entire CASEd community.

The height of charm and confidence! They are prepared to make waves in the upcoming MR. and MS. CASED 2024 thanks to their remarkable appearance and unrivaled talent.
