Who says learning is all about books and lectures? Sometimes, the best lessons come with a little chopping, mixing, tossingโand a whole lot of teamwork!
Our Grade 9 TLE โ Food Preparation learners at ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฎ๐ took their learning to the kitchen as they put their culinary skills to the test through a hands-on ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด & ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด Performance Task, held Thursday under the guidance of TLE Club Assistant Adviser ๐ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ผ, ๐๐ฃ๐ง.
Divided into three groups, ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐ต โ ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ turned simple ingredients into delicious creations, with each team preparing a different salad: ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฅ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ฑ, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ฑ.
But this activity wasnโt just about making saladsโit was about ๐บ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฒ. From choosing and preparing ingredients to mixing, garnishing, and presenting their dishes, students practiced proper food handling, sanitation, organization, time management, creativity, teamwork, and food presentation.
And of course, whatโs a salad without the perfect dressing? Students also discovered how the right dressing can bring flavors together and turn a simple dish into something more appetizing and enjoyable.
Every slice taught precision.
Every mix encouraged teamwork.
Every garnish sparked creativity.
And every bite became a ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐น๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด.
