𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗽. 𝗖𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿. 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱.: 𝗢𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

It was a usual morning in school, rooms filled with the low hum of learners while leaning forward in their seats, and unfolding lessons by teachers. Then the bell didn’t ring, the siren did.

At exactly 9:00 in the morning, the sharp wail of the earthquake alarm cut through Odiongan National High School (ONHS). Within a few seconds, participants were under their desks, one hand gripping a desk leg, the other covering the back of their head.

While others evacuate in the safety zones like empty spaces where the safety can be obtained. Class by class, students filed out, and hands protecting their heads. No pushing and no shouting.

It was not just another drill. It was a practice for compliance with National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Memorandum No. 15, s. 2026.

The technique “Drop, Cover, Hold” was seen from every classroom of the school. All practiced the same motion, ONHS moved as one. Learners, teachers, non-teaching staff, and everyone participated.

The quarterly earthquake drill etched a lesson in everyone's mind, the value of disaster preparedness and earthquake awareness .

Earthquake preparedness isn’t about fear. It’s about respect for nature we can’t control, and for a response we can master. Today we practiced, tomorrow, we’ll be ready.

‎Summer vacation ends and classes officially began on Monday, June 8, 2026. This school year marks another significant change as DepEd transitions from Four Quarters to Three-Terms and at the same time implement the last phase of the Revised K-12 Curriculum.
‎
‎With this, Odiongan National High School (ONHS), re-opened their gates and warmly welcomed both students and teachers. Ma’am Zayra F. Andal, the school principal greeted the students during the flag raising ceremony. She shared details on the new DepEd Calendar.
‎
‎The opening block paved the way for students to prepare for the beginning of classes. They underwent varied psychosocial activities prepared by the teachers. Their mathematical skills and reading skills were also diagnosed through Rapid Math Assessment (RMA) and Phil-IRI.
‎
‎As the newly implemented Three-Term Calender unfolds, so do new opportunities and moments worth getting tired over. Let us welcome this new journey with open hearts and let it once again shape us into better versions of ourselves, just as the years before have done.

ONHS Career Fiesta 2026: From Students to Future Professionals

Odiongan National High School (ONHS) recently held its much awaited Career Fiesta 2026. The school campus was filled with excitement as Grade 10 and Grade 12 students traded their school uniforms for the clothes of their dream jobs. From brave police officers and licensed doctors to creative artists and tech experts, the students looked like true professionals ready to take on the world.

Learning from the Experts

The event featured several guest speakers who shared their inspiring career journeys. Many of these professionals came from ESTI, giving the students a clear look at what happens in the real world of work. They explained their daily tasks and the hard work needed to succeed. To keep the energy high, fun intermission numbers were performed between speeches, ensuring the audience stayed focused and entertained.

The Grand Finale: Mr. and Ms. Career Fiesta

The highlight of the day was the "Mr. and Ms. Career Fiesta 2026" pageant. Representatives from different curriculum including SPA, SPS, SSC, BEP and Senior High School students owned the stage as they walked with confidence, showcasing their professional outfits. The competition ended with a challenging Question and Answer portion, where candidates shared their visions for their future careers.

The Career Fiesta was not just a day of dressing up; it was a day of discovery. It helped students realize that with the right guidance and passion, their dream jobs are well within reach.

ANCOP USA MEDICAL & DENTAL MISSION is now being held at Odiongan National High School (ONHS). The registration of the event began at 7AM and is now currently in operation, conducting services for individuals aged 18 and above for the visual screening, and is accepting all ages for all medical services on-site.

‎ONHS hosts school-based training and capacity building of open high school to equip teachers and students with updated strategies on ADM, ALS, and other flexible learning options to better address diverse learning needs.
‎
‎This afternoon, ONHS school personnel along with student parents held a training and capacity building discussing learning interventions and pathways that would respond to the needs, context, circumstances, and diversity of learners.
‎
‎The program began with warm regards from ALS Coordinator, John Patrick N. Fadri. Followed by Ma'am Duma Lumbatin's discussion on the roles and responsibilites of advisers, subject teachers and guidance counselors. After the discussion, Ma'am Hazel Dela Austria took over emphasizing how learning resources must be localized to adjust with the competencies. Then came Education Program Supervisor (EPS) Rogelio Candido, where in, he clarified the distinction between the ADM and LDM.

‎The overall topics that were discussed are the following:
‎
‎• 3 Categories of Flexible Learning Options (FLOs) which are:
‎ 1.) Alternative delivery mode (ADM)
‎ 2.) Alternative Learning System (ALS)
‎ 3.) Education in Emergencies (EiE)
‎
‎• Alternative Education in Emergencies
‎- a program implemented in response to a variety of challenges such as overcrowding, teacher shortages, lack of instructional materials, and remoteness or inaccessibility of schools.
‎
‎And, the challenges that will be faced through the implementation of this program. Despite the these, the school looks forward to sustaining these efforts as it continues to champion accessible, quality education for all.
