ONHS Career Fiesta 2026: From Students to Future Professionals
Odiongan National High School (ONHS) recently held its much awaited Career Fiesta 2026. The school campus was filled with excitement as Grade 10 and Grade 12 students traded their school uniforms for the clothes of their dream jobs. From brave police officers and licensed doctors to creative artists and tech experts, the students looked like true professionals ready to take on the world.
Learning from the Experts
The event featured several guest speakers who shared their inspiring career journeys. Many of these professionals came from ESTI, giving the students a clear look at what happens in the real world of work. They explained their daily tasks and the hard work needed to succeed. To keep the energy high, fun intermission numbers were performed between speeches, ensuring the audience stayed focused and entertained.
The Grand Finale: Mr. and Ms. Career Fiesta
The highlight of the day was the "Mr. and Ms. Career Fiesta 2026" pageant. Representatives from different curriculum including SPA, SPS, SSC, BEP and Senior High School students owned the stage as they walked with confidence, showcasing their professional outfits. The competition ended with a challenging Question and Answer portion, where candidates shared their visions for their future careers.
The Career Fiesta was not just a day of dressing up; it was a day of discovery. It helped students realize that with the right guidance and passion, their dream jobs are well within reach.

โONHS hosts school-based training and capacity building of open high school to equip teachers and students with updated strategies on ADM, ALS, and other flexible learning options to better address diverse learning needs.
โ
โThis afternoon, ONHS school personnel along with student parents held a training and capacity building discussing learning interventions and pathways that would respond to the needs, context, circumstances, and diversity of learners.
โ
โThe program began with warm regards from ALS Coordinator, John Patrick N. Fadri. Followed by Ma'am Duma Lumbatin's discussion on the roles and responsibilites of advisers, subject teachers and guidance counselors. After the discussion, Ma'am Hazel Dela Austria took over emphasizing how learning resources must be localized to adjust with the competencies. Then came Education Program Supervisor (EPS) Rogelio Candido, where in, he clarified the distinction between the ADM and LDM.
โ
โThe overall topics that were discussed are the following:
โ
โโข 3 Categories of Flexible Learning Options (FLOs) which are:
โ 1.) Alternative delivery mode (ADM)
โ 2.) Alternative Learning System (ALS)
โ 3.) Education in Emergencies (EiE)
โ

โIn accordance to Republic Act No. 7079, also known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991. Schools from all over the Philippines are free to promote and support the growth of campus journalism, thereby upholding essential values such as critical thinking, ethical reporting, and freedom of speech among young students. Additionally, this act emphasizes the importance of press freedom and development of journalistic skills, highlighting their excellence in certain branches of journalism, whether through writing or reporting.
โ
โWith regards to this, after the District Schools Press Conference. It was decided that the 3 days long Division SPC was to be held at Odiongan National High School (ONHS). Specifically, the official date of the DSPC was November 27-29.
โ
โOn day 1, schools from all over the Division of Romblon began to arrive. Filled with excitement and determination, the event started with great enthusiasm from all of the participants. The day consisted of the following: registration for the competition, parade, and opening program. It was a successful start for the first day where the young journalists cooperated with due diligence and engaged numerous times with both the facilitators and co-journalists. The parade was filled with nothing but excitement and joy for they were able to proudly represent their district to people unbeknownst to them. For the opening program, the venue echoed with pride and passion for they were tasked to each present a yell. Followed by this were numerous other activities that the facilitators had prepared.
โ
โDay 2 was the competition day. By this time, the young journalists were nothing short of what you would call a catalyst for emotions. Some were on the verge of tears, some about burst with excitement. But on this specific day, it was not these emotions that should be highlighted, but the effort, heart, and passion that the young journalists had poured into this competition. They gave their best, and that is what matters.
โ
โFinally, day 3, the moment everyone has been waiting for. It was at this moment that either your dreams would be crushed or your hopes re-ignited. The day began with the election of officers for the entire division for both elementary and secondary. Followed by intermission numbers and Jingle Interpretation Competition. However, it was only after those that the actual thrilling part began, the โawardingโ. Dreams broken, hopes crushed, and tears came pouring. It felt like the fight had ended before it even began, but you have to remember that it is not the result, but the process that matters. The sleepless nights, laughter, journey, and most of all the memories we made along the way are what truly matters. So, remember that your journey does not end here, but rather, it is where it truly began.
